I watched the Steamboat vs Cesaro match, it was pretty good and I really liked the commentary with JR and Regal. I think Cesaro can do really well for himself, there's an element of Rick Rude about how he works and that core strength, along with the obvious European style he filters in.

I see less potential in Steamboat, there's just nothing that stands out about him to me and I doubt he'd be pushed as hard if his father wasn't a legend, he's not nearly as exciting as Rollins as an athlete and doesn't seem to have any personality.

JR AND Regal on commentary in FCW and were stuck with Cole and Lawler on Monday nights. What the hell WWE?

We've talked before about best feuds and so forth but who would everyone pair up as having the best in-ring chemistry?

A few pairings that come to mind.

Flair and Steamboat

Sting and Vader

Bret and Hennig

HBK and Bulldog

Rock and Triple H

Punk and Cena

Benoit and Angle

Taker and HBK

Randy Savage and Flair
Dean Malenko & Eddie

How about Taker and Foley? Not the prettiest stuff, but those two always had awesome matches.

Definitely some memorable brawls that still stand up to this day. One of the few times you thought Takers wasn't indestructible.

Also, I'm stealing your avatar for a different forum.

What's going on with hunico? He's been being a jobber lately. He had a good push before being off tv for a while. Another dumb decision.

I would imagine they lost interest in Hunico because his main function was to serve as an antagonist for Sin Cara, and he can't seem to stay on TV.

Hunico is wrestling WWE's most under-appreciated talent on Superstars this week.

Heyman on The Usos, Backstage Talk on HHH's Mayweather Appearance, Kevin Kelly

By Marc Middleton
May 9, 2012 - 8:42:41 AM

- Former WWE and current ROH announcer Kevin Kelly turns 45 years old today.

- Paul Heyman wrote the following on Twitter about WWE Superstars Jimmy and Jey Uso:

"Amazing seeing @WWEusos ... remember, I haven't been around for half a decade ... The last time I saw these two, they were little kids doing splashes off the top rope in the Omni before the show when I managed their Dad. Yes, that makes me old, but I recognize TALENT. @WWEusos are talented. Time for these young Samoans to eat up the competition!"

- There was a ton of discussion within WWE about Triple H accompanying Floyd Mayweather to the ring last weekend in Las Vegas. Most of the talk came from the fact that CM Punk wasn't allowed to accompany UFC fighter Chael Sonnen to the octagon a few months ago in Chicago.

Part of the reason why Punk wasn't allowed to work the UFC show was because they felt nobody would acknowledge Punk as a cornerman and it would hurt Punk's perceived star power. Triple H accompanied Mayweather to the ring and outside of wrestling sites and WWE's own website, he didn't get much mainstream attention at all.

They aren't even trying anymore:

WWE Smackdown (Airing Friday)

* Sheamus and Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio never happens as a big brawl breaks out. WWE officials and referees finally break them up.

* AJ Lee defeated Kaitlyn in a physical match. Daniel Bryan comes out after the win and teases AJ. He says he's looking forward to moving on from her and going to Kaitlyn.

* Daniel Bryan beat Big Show with help from John Laurinaitis. Bryan had Show in the Yes Lock when Laurinaitis called for the bell quickly.

* Ryback defeated Heath Slater in a squash.

* Teddy Long comes out as the special ring announcer for the next match. Antonio Cesaro defeats Alex Riley.

* Randy Orton defeated Alberto Del Rio by DQ. Del Rio had the armbreaker applied and wouldn't break the hold, despite Orton reaching the ropes. This caused the DQ.

* R-Truth defeated Jack Swagger.

* Titus O'Neil and Darren Young defeated Santino Marella and Zack Ryder.

* Matt Striker spoke with Damien Sandow about why he chose not to compete last week against Derrick Bateman. Sandow talked about enlightening everyone and being their savior.

* Brodus Clay squashed Hunico.

* Sheamus vs. Chris Jericho in the main event. Alberto Del Rio runs in for the disqualification. Randy Orton comes out and hits Del Rio with a RKO and Jericho escapes. Sheamus and Orton have a staredown to end the show.

SD has been bad for years now. Do not see a change anytime soon.

Man Scott Steiner is talking about Eric Bischoff's Gold Club scandal on twitter right now. Hilarious!

Just like when he starred in The Chaperone. Zing!

Rumor on the SmackDown Incident That Led To WWE Releasing Goldust

Posted by Marc Middleton on 05/09/2012
- As noted before, Goldust was recently released by WWE after working as a producer for the SmackDown brand. Word came out that an undisclosed incident at the April 24th SmackDown tapings in Grand Rapids, Michigan led to his contract being terminated.

F4Wonline.com now reports that the belief is that Goldust was responsible for coming up with the spot on SmackDown where Yoshi Tatsu took a double-team powerbomb finisher from Darren Young and Titus O'Neil. Tatsu landed bad and the bump was said to look even worse live than it did on TV.

Young and O'Neil were not in action on the May 4th SmackDown but did work this week's tapings, using a different finishing move.

Posted by Marc Middleton on 05/09/2012
- We noted yesterday that Paul Heyman is with WWE through August's SummerSlam pay-per-view and will be representing Brock Lesnar. Heyman is being used as WWE has Lesnar signed for a limited number of dates.

One idea discussed was to have Lesnar "sue" WWE for breach of contract and money owed, playing off the actual legal battle the two sides had years ago. This angle would include all sorts of viral campaigns, something Heyman is experienced with, that would help get it over as a legitimate issue between WWE and Lesnar.

Heyman is not expected to go on the road full-time with WWE and at last word, he was only involved in the Lesnar storyline and not working WWE creative.

While one of the reasons Heyman has returned is to work with close friend Lesnar, word is that he also returned to potentially work with CM Punk down the line. Heyman has much respect for Punk and will work with him on the upcoming Punk DVD release.

Backstage reaction to Heyman at RAW on Monday was positive. He was warmly greeted by the younger talents as some of them knew him from their time in WWE developmental.

Orton vs. Lesnar Match Nixed, Plans for Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes, Hardy

Posted by Marc Middleton on 05/09/2012
- Matt Hardy continues to promote his independent wrestling appearances. Here's his latest video hyping this weekend's events on the West coast:

- The feud between Big Show and Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes is expected to end at the No Way Out pay-per-view.

- While Randy Orton vs. Brock Lesnar was discussed for the SummerSlam pay-per-view at one point, WWE officials quickly moved on and started working on the Lesnar vs. Triple H program.

I bet Trips was one of the main guys to scrap Brock vs Orton and inserted himself,But I ain't bothered by it much since Brock vs Triple H has been a dream match for me!!

Me too. I've wanted to see Brock destroy The Nose all the way back to when Brock was the top guy on SD! and Triple H was burying the entire Raw roster in 03.

They could've kept Huncio in the mask and that way people would care more about that gimmick than riding a bike to the ring; looking like an idiot.

I could see Heyman working with Punk if we do get a Lesnar/Punk feud later on down the line. That is, if the idea of Brock vs Rock for the WWE title at WM 29 is still a go.

Brock beats CM Punk at Survivor Series, then goes up against Rock at WM. All the while, earlier in the year at Money in the Bank, Wade Barrett enters that match and beats Rock at the very end of WrestleMania to end the show with the title. Then....we get Punk/Barrett

Now why the heck haven't they portrayed this on television!

agreed, really wishthis ppv wasnt 2 weeks away, they could have saved it for Summerslam and used their history to build onto their fued.

Fast and Furious 6 starts shooting next month....in other words, there is no way that the Rock will be at Summerslam.

I'd rather the match is on a smaller PPV with a greater chance of being in the main event spot it deserves, rather than being at Summerslam and at risk of playing second fiddle to Brock Lesnar VS HHH or whatever.

And yeah, that was an awesome article. Really got me excited about this upcoming match. I hope the two put on a classic.
