Quantumania Paul Rudd is Ant-Man

We gotta put some respect on Paul Rudd. He carries the film and he definitely stepped up from his debut in Ant-Man. I was impressed with his delivery in the in his performance especially in the fight with Kang. Good fight choreography

I'm curious, did the total time he had his mask on even anount to more than a minute in this film (not counting the paradox duplicates)? They sure wanted that Paul Rudd face on our screen as much as possible this time.

That's like almost every superhero film in existence.

Well really just recent MCU films. Batman usually keeps his on. Deadpool keeps his on. Flash keeps his on. Captain America kept his on (Infinity War aside). Hell Ant-man kept his on the entire battle in Civil War and the entire time he battled Yellowjacket in the first Ant-man movie.

In this movie he took his mask off every chance he got, even when he was standing inside a giant dust cloud, with rocks and stuff flying everywhere around his head. Then at the end they pull a Raimi Spider-man and just have the mask get destroyed at the start of the final fight scene. Kind of hilarious.

I mean, did he real have any reason to wear the mask down there? (after realizing they can survive the atmosphere) he didn't need to hide his identity (which seems to be public at this point, anyway) they didn't know there were any ants down there for him to have to use his helmet to control... maybe for some slight better protection in the fights it could have helped

He still uses it when he shrinks and grows, though, which is when he specifically needed it for breathing in previous movies. In previous movies he left it on even when he was normal sized, and always had it on when he shrank or grew. Whereas in this movie he almost always takes it off when he's normal sized, and even takes it off after he shrinks at one point, and takes it off after he grows at one point. The breathing situation is just never acknowledged in the film at all, I guess the best explanation is that they don't need to breathe in the quantum realm, and just put on their masks out of habit whenever they shrink or grow.

And it would make sense to wear the helmet as protection, but none of the characters keep their helmet on consistently in dangerous situations (or, as mentioned before, when they're in a cloud of dust and flying rocks and stuff), so they don't seem particularly concerned about that either.
