On the plus side given the cameo in MoM, it’s not like they wouldn’t have given Krasinski due consideration if he was actually up for doing the role full time. My guess is either they really had Driver in mind for this interpretation of Reed or Krasinki wasn’t up for committing to a multi-film contract (but happy to appear in a cameo).

I also wonder if maybe John Krasinski wanted some creative say, perhaps a deal that allowed him to direct a Marvel film at some point. Who knows.

Seeing that Krasinski is a creative writer and director who is continuing to prove his talents behind the scenes, it's possible he could want to oversee a big budget Marvel film as a filmmaker.

Like I say with any fancast, watch the movie they make and judge that. Don't create the movie in your head. You're setting yourself up to dislike it regardless of anything else when you marry yourself to a fancast

If the Driver, Smith, and Patel rumors are true, it seems to me that they're envisioning more of an unconventional leading man type for Reed. A mold which Krasinski doesn't really fit.

Plus, I think its become pretty clear that Krasinski's appearance in MoM was just them throwing the fans a bone. Had the plan been to keep him as Reed long term, it seems like they would've announced it a long time ago.

if the plan was to keep Anson Mount as Black Bolt they would have announced that too. But they didn’t. They kept us in the dark. Like we are right now. We know jack until we hear it straight from the horse’s mouth.
For all we know Anson Mount probably will be the MCU Black Bolt in an Eternals movie and Krasinski is Reed. Time will tell.

That could certainly be the case my friend!

I guess the only caveat for me is though is that it doesn't really make sense to hide that Krasinski is coming back. Especially since it would create some buzz around the project. Imagine the reaction had they announced it at last year's Comic Con where they announced Shakman was directing and gave a tentative release date.

My guess is that they deliberately left it opened ended in regards to keeping Krasinski around. Which I suspect is also the current state of affairs regarding Anson Mount coming back for Black Bolt.
