Unless someone does this, then you have unsuccessfully moved past their ignored post. But it is not hard to just move past that post too, even though it is tempting to see what was said.If you want to ignore someone.....when you come to a post they make....don't read it, move to the next post, and read that one.....you have now successfully ignored someone.
I been on the site for many years, it wasn't until recently I had to use the ignore feature. There about 13 posters that just annoy me to no end and if I see their posts saying something stupid, I might say something that might get myself banned.

My point was.....if you have a modicum of self control....you don't need mechanical means to "ignore" someone....you can simply choose to not respond to them. There are many poster on here I "ignore" on a daily basis (as in I choose to not respond to a post they make)....I still read their posts (I have to know if they have posted something that is against the rules on here) but I don't have to have a conversation with them or start/continue an argument....I simply "ignore" them.
I have over 60 people on my ignore list for a variety of reasons. Most are due to them being negative, whiny babies; repeat trolls; overly aggressive bullies; hit-and-run posters that only post to be contrarian or get a rise out of people; and those that have no tolerance for other viewpoints (mainly political ones.)
I've taken some off after seeing they modified their tone/posting style but then there are many on my list that check 2 or more of my criteria so they're not getting off anytime soon. My list would easily be well over 100 if I'd kept all those that I put on ignore who ultimately got perma-banned.That decribes all thirteen posters I have on my ignore list. It's shocking none of them have gotten banned yet.

Some People have no self control even when they claim to have you on their ignore list. Someone from the BvS board put me on ignore, and a few days later is responding to posts I made. When I mentioned that they supposedly put me on ignore, they made some lame joke.
I also remember someone on a DCCU forum mentioning constantly, "I'm gonna put AntMan 41 on ignore", or whatever his name was. Then I see the same poster in the Batman Comics thread basically baiting Antman into getting into another argument with them.

The majority of people I've blocked are those that do the same in the Marvel MCU forums. I especially go after those who have histories showing they spend a majority of their time in the DC/WB sections only to hit-and-run the MCU movie once it comes out.Got a handful of members on my ignore list. Pretty much just those who for example hate Metal Gear Solid but go to the Metal Gear Solid thread every day for hours at a time saying repeatedly how they hate MGS and hope the next game is bad.
Having that opinion is fine but to be a squatter in that the thread day in day out repeating it ad nauseum is not only pointless but ruins the atmosphere.
