I was a geology major in college. Now that I have my degree in geology I am a geologist. Actually I'm a science teacher now. I didn't enjoy my graduate experience in geophysics and structural geology. Blech.

Hah, I was wondering if you got your degree or if you just changed your major. That's really neat, it doesn't seem like there are a ton of women geologists...or geologists in general. I might have to ask you about some of those classes later. I'm wanting to branch out into astrogeology.

What kinds of math classes did you have to take?

I took calculus and that was it but differential equations and linear algebra would definitely be helpful. Also thermodynamics, but that's physics.

Many programs seem to require differential equations and that scares the hell out of me. I don't know exactly which schools have really good geology departments, I've only speculated based on location.
