Persons Unknown

I missed one episode and Im almost lost. Kind of lame. Its the one where we see Joe's backstory.

So are Renbe and his editor in the village where the captives are? If so they are somewhere in South America right?

What's up with the night manager getting smitten with Janet all of a sudden. That seems like it came outta nowhere.

At this point I'm just along for the ride. I've already invested hours into this thing, I'm not getting off now.

Same here.

I think it's a completely different town that the duo is in. They probably have multiples set up.

Night manager thing does seem to be out of left field. I guess because Joe likes her so much the night manager has some bizarre attraction to her as well.

I saw episodes 10 and 11 so I'm all caught up. The thing I don't understand is how all the men suddenly fall for Janet and think she's perfect for the program. It seems forced to me.

Stripping away the dopey wannabe deep program philosophy, the story is the old chestnut of a man will cast aside almost anything for the affections of a pretty Lady.

What a pile of donkey arse, I can only imagine McQuarrie thought they were gonna get a second season when he signed off on that garbage ending.

The show shot itself in the foot long ago when it made the institute way too powerful, but with the clever escape plan they just about salvaged things, only to press restart with the dumbass second hour. :down

The whole concept of the program was still mostly vague tosh by the end and instead of just having Joe, Janet and the crew wipe them out they try to be "shocking" by ending things with a second rate Nick Fury waiting for the same set of characters on a badly composed CGI freighter in a storm. rubbish series.

Oh and did anyone notice how it went from day to night in 19 seconds between Janet "killing" Moira to Joe poisoning her? :awesome:

The first hour was good. It was the first time in a long time that the show lived up to its strong premise. The second hour, ugh. I could've accepted it ending with Janet being on the run, Graham being captured, Charlie being with Blackham who may or may not work for the program, and Joe starting the program over with a new group (including Janet's husband) and Tori as the night manager. While that may have been ambiguous, one can simply draw the conclusion that Joe went back to the program to get Janet out of it. But what we got was absolute garbage. What happened to NBC's promise that "by the end of the summer, all will be revealed?"

I agree with everyone. Episode 12 was pretty good and shocking when the people started killing each other only to reveal it was an escape plan. But episode 13 fell flat on its face. I do like the idea that Joe went back into the program along with Janet's ex-husband but I kind of wanted to see a happy ending for Janet and the rest of the people. Or at least have them put a dent in the Program's top executives. They were too big to destroy but if they could at least put up more of a fight, the ending would have been better.

I could've settled with Janet simply being on the run with her daughter and Joe going back into the Program as a way to protect her from the inside. But the freighter thing was beyond stupid.

They didnt explain anything about the motives of the organization. Probably too out there but I had the feeling that the conspiracy had something to do with aliens. Pretty much thought this after I saw the dude with the flowing white hair. Speaking of that weird guy, he looks like he could have come from the Dolph Lundren actioner I Come In Peace.

The only reasons Id hope for a second season are for them to explain what the hell is going on, and the fact that Janet and Erica are gonna be stuck together on a freighter with no Joe.

Wow. That freighter ending makes you feel dirty for having put up with this nonsense show. That was just garbage.

I have a feeling that Erica will prison rape Janet on that freighter.

They didn't even show the ending here in NY. They showed a Jets game instead.

That ending is getting me close to the edge. I'm real close to just giving up on tv all together; getting tired of set up next season endings.

Especially since there probably won't be another season. I mean if they were going to do another season I can understand that ending, but I think the producers knew for a while the show wasn't going to return and still did that. That's just being mean to the fans that stuck with the show to begin with.

There was never going to be a second season. That was what that whole, "By the end of the summer, all will be revealed" crap was about.

The show was revealed to be a piece of **** and a waste of time, so NBC technically didnt lie.

Wow, WTF. This show had a pretty good concept but just ended up failing miserably. That freighter thing was really asinine.

Wait a minute. I just read that the lame eyepatch guy was the first night manager. Heck if I noticed that.

Somehow that makes the ending even stupider.
