Pet python snake kills 2-year-old baby girl

I'm not gonna go into how it's completely irresponsible to keep wildlife (which a python of this size would be considered) as pets, so I'm just gonna say this.

2 year olds provide a good amount of protein.

Is that the baby in the snake or am I seeing things?

I like how he's 32 and dating a 19 year old. That just screams Squidbillies to me, even if she is legal.

Is there a really good reason to have a giant python and a 2 year old at the same time?

Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing. So is the snake dead, then?

I was just reading about this...so sad.

I will never understand people who keep deadly snakes as pets.

When I first joined the Air Force my roommate had a 5 foot python in our room. It used to get out of it's glass tank ALL the time and I would have no idea where in the room it was. I'd go to the fridge to get some water and yup... it's right there on top of the fridge flicking it's demon tongue out at me. I used to get so pissed because of that... but my roommate didn't care.

He decided to perform the sacrifice of the mouse one day... so he was holding his snake in one hand and the mouse in the other. As he was lowering the mouse into the tank, the snake STRUCK him in the back of the head.

I was sitting on the top bunk and of course my only reaction was the classic... "OH ****!!!"...

... followed by seeing him throw his "precious" snake across the room and hearing a river of explicity flood out of his mouth.

I lawled... until I realized that he was not only cursing so vehemently because he had just been bitten by his poor wittle baby snake... but that he had also squished the mouse he was holding while he was being attacked in the back of his bald head.

y u k

I don't like snakes. People are stupid.

Keeping a snake that big is like keeping a ****ing cheetah as a pet. If the animal in the wild ever had the opportunity to eat me and would, i would not keep it as a pet.

I might be a animal person, but I do not like snakes.

Here are my thoughts.

At least he killed the snake, or at least stabbed the **** outta it.

Why would u keep a big snake with a tiny baby? Really?

Snakes are bad pets.

32 and banging a 19 yr old.....good for him.

I hope your joking.

It should be a law that people can't keep those kind of pets if they have children.

Technically what I said is true. By the way, depending on the place, there're laws against owning those kinds of pets.

Not to mention, if she's 19, and the kid is 2, then the girl was at least 16 when they started having sex.

Snakes are evil. No expections.

Snakes are snakes and not only do they naturally eat smaller warm-blooded creatures, but they are notorious escape artists, almost to the point that only a zoo or similar facility has the resources to keep a snake this size contained, and they'll still get out with some regularity.

Why? The snake was only acting on its natural instincts.

It's an unfortunate event for both infant and snake that both died from the irresponsibility of the snake's owners, however, once an animal attacks and kills a human, legally it's life is forfeit. Some leeway can be made for domestic animals such as dogs and cats attacking (but not killing) humans, but the snake's status as a wild animal and the severity of the attack, combined with the overall sympathetic status of the victim, certainly doomed it as soon as it smothered and swallowed the child.

I don't remember reading that the child was swallowed.
