Pet Sematary Remake in the works

I was hoping they would have kept the breed of cat from the original that was what I liked he looked so cute before he died and looked pure evil when he came back especially with those glowy eyes they used in shots.

Well they didn’t keep the cat but it seems they’ve cloned the boy from the original. The son in the new one looks just like him.

This breed of cat is accurate to the novel. The 1989 movie changed it. I’m glad they’re keeping more faithful to King’s novel.

I have not read the book in many years I think I read it back in the early 90s when I was in high school so I never remembered what breed Church was in the book I just remember the breed that was used in the movie

Oh wow, a trailer already? Is it just me or did the entire production on this movie happen at lightning speed? Granted, it’s not the type of film that requires a lengthy post production schedule but I feel like we just got casting news yesterday.

It's not an insanely fx heavy film. The cat will probably be CG and animatronic, and the boy will probably be makeup and CG.

And they started filming back in June, I imagine they have enough footage for a trailer.

I think it's standard these days for most horror movies to have some creepy character in a mask at some point.

As someone who's read the book and was first exposed to this story from the 89 film. This is doing nothing for me. I understand that this adaption has to be slightly different to the 89 film but why change Juds accent?. Fred Gwyn did that accent as described in the book, so why change it?. Imo that accent made Jud seem kinda scary and imposing himself imo and that's kinda lost here. Plus why add these kids in a mask BS?. Also seems Juds wife will be missing from this adaption again. Bleh.

Somebody on Youtube said those kids may be kind of a flashback thing or just spirits and visions from past kids who apparently held ceremonies for their dead pets.
