Pet Sematary Remake in the works

I guess they saw IT and were like, "Hey, they changed a lot from the source material, I'll bet it'll work the same for Pet Sematary!"

If we don't get a CG Gage running around like a madman ****ing up people I boycott. :o
Reading the interview it seems like this is the reason they did the twist. They wanted to lift aspects of the book that couldn't be done with a 30year-old actor. I kind of understand their motivations, in that case. And I think it was probably best to establish the change in course now instead of catching viewers off guard with such a radical alteration.

So based on the new trailer and my affection for the original coupled with not being able to take kids dying I will say the atmosphere in this new one is creepy but seems to be missing something.

It still looks like
gage dies at some point becsuse it looks like little hands crawling out of there mini door just much later in the story

OK so just finished reading the book. It's kind of hard to fully comprehend it since English is not my first language but I managed to read it quite well. It's a quite good book tbh, lots of suspense and mystery. Sometimes it drags a little bit but that's ok for a book.

The only thing I don't understand is Ellie's nightmare and Pascow ? Did they ever explain what the heck are those 2 things ? I expect Ellie's nightmare to have some sort of explanation at the end of the book, the same with Pascow's link to all of the story, but there is no explanation.

And just watched the second trailer of the 2019 movie. Worst decision of my life.

Some positive reactions after it’s premiere.

The last time they made King "even darker" the public rioted.

BTW... I LOVE the ending of THE MIST. But let's not pretend that people didn't **** on that movie for years and years.

I hope it's good. That weekend is bringing both Shazam and Pet Sematary. I'll check out both if they're deserving.

Thought the trailer gave away all the plot. Very excited to seet these early reactions.

Didn’t a guy in this thread say that he had the script and it’s awful ?

All the reviews seem to be great. After the last trailer, I was a little hesitant but this is getting my expectations back up.

Out of the three Stephen King adaptations this year, this was the one with the biggest question mark for me.

Been excited for this from the go can’t wait to see it. That’s gonna be a good birthday weekend for me. Shazam and this.

OT but... Doesn't it seem like the phenomenon of IT part 1 was like almost a decade ago? Maybe it's the way the news has been with real life geopolitics spinning a tale most would have balked at as being too contrived to be real but even things like say the release of huge hits like Black Panther and Infinity War seem like it was years and years and years ago... But it was 2o18.

Just wait until next month when the teaser for Part 2 comes out. The hype will be back up before you know it.

Us, Pet Sematary, Child's Play, It Part 2, Midsommar, Annabelle Comes Home, Scary Stores to Tell in the Dark, Doctor Sleep, (maybe) La Llorona. And on the tv side, we're getting Twilight Zone soon and the Creepshow later this year.

I just can't shake the feeling that 2019 will be the best year for horror in a while.

I haven't seen the 1989 movie yet, is it worth watching? Wondering if I should go in fresh not knowing anything about this story, or watch the 1989 one so I have a point of comparison....

It has its moments, and by moments I mean the performances of Fred Gwynne, the little boy and one particularly creepy special effect but not much else.
