Is is not odd that all the heroes that have appeared so far in the show have been on this list that Mohinder's father created, everyone but Peter?

What could this mean? I have been trying to wrap my head around it since I taped the episode and paused it when the list was first shown, but sadily I have not figured out an answer. This could just be me looking to deeply into this, maybe.

Could Peter be special in some way? Or have we just not seen his name on the list because it is much more extensive?

What does everyone else think?

p.s. sorry if this has been discussed, I didn't see it in any other thread.

He could be special, or he could just be a hero that Suresh didn't know about.
We haven't seen the whole list, and it's not in any kind of order, at least not from what I've seen.

they havent even shown the entire list.

yeah it can either be we havnt seen the whole list. or maybe the list is incomplete and it doesnt have any "new" ones

Who did they mention from the list? I missed the episode.

Several of the main characters are on the list that they showed. Hiro's on it. Nathan on it. Issac is on it.

I think the show is really building Peter up to be the main Hero. It really seems that the drew parallels between him and Syler. The both can gain the abilities of others, but one is completely selfless while the other wants all the power for himself.

Didn't Mohinder hold up a post it or piece of paper with Peter's name on it at then end of the latest episode?

no, that was ISAAC MENDEZ on the post-it

Peter nor Sylar weren't on it. Mohinder's list may have not been up to date. I doubt if Micah was on it either.

We havent even seen the entire list. But from the part we have seen, Micah hasnt been seen on the list yet either.

It's definitely building with Peter being the dominant hero. He is obviously more than just a power usurper considering his high level vivid dreaming. I have a feeling that his ability to absorb others powers can be substantiated for a longer period of time than just being near that person, but it's just speculation.

He more than anyone has the ability to match up with Sylar in that as long as he is near Sylar he can access any power Sylar has. More potently, he can access other available hero's powers if they are nearby and Sylar hasn't killed them yet, which gives Peter a leg up.

Exactly, he is the only one of the Heroes who will never, ever be outmatched by a villain, because he can do whatever they can do.

true
but using someone's power against them is tricky, considering they know how it works better than you

That's a good point, but even if that is the case, he could only be slightly outmatched. It would never be a huge mismatch, like Isaac (who has no real offensive powers) going up against Sylar for example.

haha, i joked with my friends about that in the first couple weeks
i said: how could Isaac help the heroes? would he stand there and paint like "watch out, he's coming with an uppercut next!"

Yeah. Out of all the Heroes with non-offensive powers that are still alive (Isaac, Matt, Micah, and The Haitian somewhat) I can't decide which would be more useless in some sort of battle. But probably Isaac.

The Haitian definitely would be the MOST useful
Micah could use technology against you, i guess
and Matt could find out what you were planning to do ahead of time
so i'd have to say Isaac

What is Micah's power exactly? Isaac isn't completly useless in fight because he could know if hes going to have to fight Sylar and prepare for it. Knowing the future is always helpful.

I believe that since Peter's powers were only active when others were around him, that's why he wasnt on the list.

For Isaac to fight Sylar, he'd have to combine his precognitive with the power of... (wait for it) prep-time.

Matt, on the other hand, would be superhumanly useless in a fight.

We don't know the extent of Micah's technopathy, yet. We know he fixed a telephone by touching it, but we don't know if his powers are touch-based, or how far he can manipulate technology. With any luck, he can cause electrical equipment near Sylar to short and explode.

i have to disagree about Matt
he can get prep-time too, but is severely shortened

Gotta remember Matt is also a cop so he has training in fighting
And with his powers he could know exactly what you are about to do
I think Matt would be the most effective in a fight
