Definitely.I'm getting Tomorrow Land and John Carter vibes from this.
If the budget is set at 'only' $100m, (I know that's still a lot of money to us) but if it is, I can see this bringing in around $350m WW so there is every chance of them continuing the story, in more films, but the popular transfer of YA fiction doesn't always transfer, back in the day, I would have put a lot on Golden Compass doing well at the Box Office and in comparison, Mortal Engines has another $80m to play with in wriggle room from it's lesser budget.

I don't think the interest is there for this one, unless like Hunger Games or Fifty Shades, this is based on a popular book.
