Peter Pan Re-Imagining Starring Tatum

Has anyone here A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints or Stop-Loss? Tatum is GREAT in them.

^bingo

but the problem is holly wood is casting him in the wrong roles

tatum does not excel at hero roles he was great in GTRYS

Yeah Tatum is good in supporting roles like the one you mentioned as well as Coach Carter

but still having Tatum be Peter Pan is just stupid. Peter is a young kid. Tatum is 30

This is a dark and gritty reboot.

Blackman never forget, like an elephant.

I think I'll just stay home, and watch Hook.

It is an awful idea and Tatum is terrible in almost everything I've seen him in. He's not Sam Worthington bad but he aint good either.

I think Tatum is worse than Sam Worthington...and thats....not good.

Gavin O'Connor(Warrior) To Direct
"Warrior" director Gavin O'Connor is in talks to direct Sony Pictures' "Neverland," an origin story about J.M. Barrie's characters Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Joe Roth and Palak Patel are producing for Roth Films, while Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin will produce through their Iron Horse banner.
Tatum, Carolin and Eric Bromberg came up with the idea and brought it to Roth Films and scribe Billy Ray for the group to develop as a pitch, which Ray subsequently sold to Sony. O'Connor will oversee the next draft of the script.
Roth recently produced "Alice in Wonderland" and has U's "Snow White and the Huntsman" coming out on June 1.
O'Connor previously directed "Tumbleweeds," "Miracle," "Pride and Glory" and "Warrior." Helmer is repped by CAA.

BTW Tatum is not gonna star only produce according to Deadline

I have no clue if this will be good or not. The origin premise sounds a little like the Neverland series.
Channing Tatum involved doesn't sound too good. I love the Peter Pan myth when handled great (2003's movie). But perhaps it's best to let it be, any story that tell how everything started. I don't know.

I could easily just facepalm and start crying.

But then I think if I'd never seen hook and someone told me that they were planning to make a Pan movie where he'd left neverland, grown up and had kids, and he was gonna be played by Robin Williams... Well I'd probably have a fit :funny:

But I freaking love that movie.

Peter Pan is very important to me. I was obsessed with him and neverland when I was a kid.

But if changing some of the story aspects is what they need to do to keep making Pan films, I can deal.

I mean, the 'mentor to enemy' thing kind of worked in the Neverland series. Maybe the brothers thing could be interesting too.

Will this reimagining see Peter Pan not be a fun-loving boy trying to stay young forever, but instead a male-prostitute that never wants to get old?

Because that would probably be a good fit for Tatum. :o

Didn't Tatum already do this in 21 Jump Street?
