Petition for Fox to Sell Rights to Marvel

Half the country hates Fox News, and Fox does nothing to change anything there. lol

Petitions won't change their mind. The worth of the property is what will change their mind on a sequel.

I hope the next petition is for Fox to stop making movies altogether.

:oldrazz:

Is there any way to see who signed it? Kinda curious how many actual Fox execs went ahead and supported it. :o

To be fair, Fox Filmed Entertainment which owns 20th Century Fox is a totally different company than News Corp that runs Fox news.

As I said what changes minds are the shareholders and the board of directors who are not happy that there will be a 60 Million dollar write off.

Fox News probably doesn't lose them 60 million dollars.

Some of you just need to step back and enjoy the humor of this. Yesterday Fox made it known that they intended to make a sequel. Within a couple more hours there will be over 10,000 people saying "NOOOOOO!!!!"

That's funny. :funny:

Eh not that funny. I would say the film's $25 million opening weekend is more indicative than that and funnier.

The people have already spoken. They stayed away in droves from seeing this film. There is no need for a petition. In the end FOX will make a decision based on business for the company not signatures of passionate FF fans.

Precisely.

well Fox either didn't get the message or they're full of s***, because they claim they're going to make a sequel.

. . . I'm going with the "full of s***" option.:cwink:

Yeah, they're full of ****. As you said yourself, Fox knows it's better for Fant4stic's sake to say "we're moving ahead with the franchise" than "this bombed, we're done".

Agreed. This is the funniest thing to happen to SH movies in a long time. I'm getting a huge kick out of it.

Agreed...but it's still fun to sign it anyway. No way I could pass that up. Screw Fox...I'm twisting the knife at this point. :gngl:

Just like how Fox said they were gonna make a sequel to Dragonball: Evolution

 :woot:

I just think it's absolutely hilarious that in a few hours nearly 9000 have signed a petition that literally says: "WE DON'T WANT ANOTHER SEQUEL!!!!!"

Will it end world hunger? Of course not. But it's funny as ****. :funny:

They said they are making a sequel before this.

If they were seriously planning to make a sequel before they sure aren't going to make one now. Unless they are completely delusional about the state of this franchise under their ownership.

They said they are making a sequel before this.

They announced a sequel on March 21, 2014 in response to rumors that they were looking to replace Josh Trank, but they reiterated that intention to Hitfix yesterday. I'm assuming they were full of **** in both instances.

Thats just lip service Willie. Just like Sony and their intentions to continue making spinoffs and sequels to Spiderman on their own when there were back room negotiations taking place. Making themselves look capable of standing firm and moving forward. They know they have no support. And by no means want the public to know they threw the white flag.

Give it time and let this turd leave theaters and watch the news start to roll in in three to six months.

FWIW, Sony was so bullheaded about Sinister Six that sources within the company claimed that it was not cancelled, just indefinitely postponed, after making a huge deal with Marvel. Very rarely do you formally announce the cancellation of a major film. You just try not to talk about it in public.

Why in the hell would any petition for a business to sell their rights? Do people seriously think that the IP holding company gives a **** about how many people demand they sell the IP back to Marvel?

:applause:.
I blame Youtube and this new idea that every opinion on everything matters to everyone.

Who said anything about selling rights? We want them to give them up for free :p trolololol

Oops didn't see this thread. I came across this petition over on IMDB and posted it in the "keep hope alive" thread. I love that over 12,500 have already signed it so fast.

Still, most of us voting with our wallets was better. I know not many FF fans paid to see this thing. Fox has to know that we paid to see something else and walked in to see FF.

In fact, I was watching the Collider Youtube box office breakdown video and they had a producer from Fox on as a guest host. (The guy producing Hitman 47) Mark Ellis flat out told him his friends paid to see The Gift and sneaked in to see FF because they didn't want it to get their money. Fox has to know this won't change with any FF sequel or spin off.

I'm glad that Mark Ellis tells it as it is about FFINO, which makes me respect him more. I hope this movie's failure will sting Fox for many years to come.
