It is called a "pathetic"/"cheap" 'plug' for a reason dude, lol.

It's part of the fun and humor of promoting something- and yes, making cheap plugs- to the promoter or someone involved- is oddly funny.

BTW, to relate this back- there will be a cameo by a member of the FF in the screenplay.

Quinton Beck is the GREATEST director of our time! Hitchcock, Spielburg, Scorcessee, lol, please- they are only amateurs compared to the genius that is Quinton Beck!

I still think they deserve to have their names spelled correctly, don't you?

Really don't understand why some posters feel the need to be the "spelling and grammar police" around here...

Many people don't have time to spell check. Besides, I'm tired, it's late and as Bruce Willis says (check my sig):

5 out of 6 Star Wars movies were PG, so whats the big deal with FF2 being PG as well?

Because Fantastic Four isn't Star Wars.

Fantastic Four don't fight with lightsabers and laser guns most of their movie like Star Wars. There's quite a bit of fist fighting in Fantastic Four, which can't be as brutal and entertaining in a PG movie. You can't have a "full Doom", all evilness shown, in a PG movie too well. I'll be suprised if it's pulled off.
That scene in the novel I'm hearing about with Doom violently murdering that general is beyond awesome.
It's what we need for the character now. He had his moments in the first but not nearly enough.

PG movies can't go into action as much as a PG-13 can. Doesn't work like that.

Also, the movie is said to be edgier and more adult. My fear is that characters like Doom will suffer from the lower rating (the first movie was PG-13). The 92 minute running time isn't very comforting either.

Exactly. I think it should be a bit longer, but that's not my biggest concern now.

I'm afraid with the PG rating it's going to be taken down a few notches...especially Dr. Doom.

Your poor spelling reflects more on your statements and gratuitous "promotion" than anything I could point out.
Most successful writers take a little pride in these things.

Oh, and your sig violates Hype rules on profanity.

Had it for months dude. No mod has brought up Bruce's, John fckin' MaClane words yet. And in regards to the spelling- those who remember Bruce Willis' awesome appearance over on AICN, probably knows why it's spelled that way in this post.

Spelling check in the final product itself? Important.

Spelling check in some random 'spur of the moment' promotion? Not that important.

So are they gonna get in a fist fight with the Silver Surfer? Is The Torch going to get in a fist fight with Galactus. Not in this story...maybe fistfights will be in another film but that's not what this is about. I'm not paying 10 bucks for a FF movie ticket to watch fistfights. I'll save that for Blade.

Prepare for the Fantastic Four: The Real Rise of the Silver Surfer coming soon to dvd.:o

^ The rating in this case is just a facade. My God people PG or PG-13 for this franchise who freaking cares. It's all lighthearted action comedy. Has there been anything in the trailers yet to suggest a lack of intense action. Zip it and go to the movies and judge it then. I'm sure most of you won't be watching the screen though. You'll be watching your stopwatch to confirm the runtime while taking notes about how you didn't like it before it starts... and then you'll whine about how you didn't understand it.

Hmm, I was hoping to see Doom go nuts in this...looks like that is probably not going to happen with a PG rating :(

Yeah, cause that's exactly what we did with the first movie.
:whatever:

So far we've seen the Doom get knocked out of his mind by The Thing and vaporized temporarily by the Surfer. Also Doom will be trying to get the Surfer the whole film and not be dealing with the FF till the end I presume and we've already seen a piece of that. There is NOTHING in the trailers or footage we've seen to suggest there will be a lack of intense action. If there was...that would be another story.

Doesn't change the fact that it violates this site's rules, "dude."
Plenty of participants on the Hype are kids. My nephews (10 and 12) are two of them.
When you sign up to be a member here you agree to abide by the rules set down by the owners of this site. Their site, their rules.
Just because a Mod hasn't noticed it doesn't negate the violation.
heh- And you're the one who called attention to it. :woot:

^ Yeah and the first movie was mediocre and the trailers were lame IMO comapred to these. This is on a whole other level and it clearly has way more action and suspense than the first one. Howabout not watching it JP since you've already been through such a bad experience. Please don't.

Leave it to the mods then. This isn't a spelling board and if you have a personal problem why bring attention to it on the public boards. There is a private message feature. :) Oops I was just a total hypocrite for saying that. LOL Peace guys.

How 'bout you let me be. If I annoy you so much just hit the ignore button.

X3 trailers looked fantastic. Fox always delivers excellent trailers. Not saying that this film wont be great, it could be.. or it could have been. My gut tells me a lot was cut out to fit a runtime and a rating.

In the end, you and I respectfully disagree, and I hope I am proven wrong on the 15th, or whenever I see it.

I think the runtime is more of a concern than the rating. Minus 8-10 minutes of credits and opening title sequence makes this film around 82 minutes, which is my biggest complaint and concern at the moment. A movie that is as long as Shrek 3 which was supposed to be epic doesn't bode well. The rating is no biggie, there are plenty of dark and action packed PG films.

Malus: I'll 'censor' my sig', if that will make you stop complaining, but that's all... if a MOD wants it completely removed, then it will be... but, for now- censored and that's all.

So, sig "changed" and another great quote from the coolest guy alive- Bruce Willis.

If it's one thing I hate, it's posters who- unprovoked- attack another's post due to it's spelling content.

Well, this is a message for the "spelling police" a.k.a. the "waaaamblance." (anyone whose seen 'The Kid' will probably get that last part):

The following is a message written by Bruce Willis to all "spelling police" members message board wide:

You never made a typo while typing? Take your best shot, but #*&% off with comments about my typing. I can spell, I just neglected to proofread what I type sometimes. Proofreading is for *****es.... All I can say is that I will do what I can to remain comprehensible.

That's the best post I have ever seen to the "spelling police." Are you guys teachers or just need correct spelling 24/7?

But enough about that, this isn't a forum about Bruce Willis' words nor is it a forum about spelling- so, don't give me the "I before E, except after C" bull$#!%, I've learned it- I know it- over, done, bada-bing-da-bada-boom.
Back to our scheduled broadcasting "Rise of the Silver Surfer is rated PG?"
