September 20: Fred Dekker double feature and more in Philly
The boys over at Exhumed Films have one of their most exciting double features on tap for this Saturday, September 23: a Fred Dekker double bill consisting of the writer/directors cult favorites NIGHT OF THE CREEPS (pictured) and THE MONSTER SQUAD. The show begins at 8 p.m. and takes place at Philadelphia, PAs International House (3710 Chestnut Street); admission is just $10 for the two films. CREEPS, a catch-all homage to alien invasion/zombie cinema, and SQUAD, a modernization of the screens classic creatures, are both currently unavailable on video, and this reps a rare chance to see these features on the big screen (both presented in 35mm).
Other Exhumed double and triple features on tap for this year include a Stalk N Slash Triple Feature on Friday, October 13 (the original SLEEPAWAY CAMP, GRADUATION DAY and the stalker spoof WACKO; $12), a Grindhouse Horror Triple Feature Saturday, October 28 (BEAST OF THE YELLOW NIGHT, DEVIL TIMES FIVE and SCREAMERS; $12), a When Animals Attack! double feature Saturday, November 18 (GRIZZLY and DAY OF THE ANIMALS; $10), and Exhumed Films in Outer Space on Saturday, December 16 (the Roger Corman flicks GALAXY OF TERROR and BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS; $10). All shows start at 8 p.m. and feature 35mm prints (with the exception of BATTLE); check out the Exhumed site for more info. Michael Gingold
