Comics Phoenix - Warsong

EXTREME SPOILER

anyone want to know what happens in number two? my comic book dealer gets preview issues a week in advance, so i read #2 to see if the story got any better and made me want to get it...it didn't. i'm pretty disappointed thus far. seriously, this is what happens in the issue, in a nutshell.

so picking up right where the first left off, sophie and esme manage to slip by unnoticed right into cerebro as the other sisters fly off. the x-men hop into a plane to chase after them while beast and logan stick behind...they see the two get into cerebro and logan tries his best to get in, and it takes a while. meanwhile, emma is attempting to read the girls minds mid air, come to find out they are all now communicating in binary code (computer language). the 2 tell the 3 they've got to complete their mission, and the upload it to them using the binary code. scott pushes a button and tries to zap them, to no avail, they are off to complete some "purpose". logan finally gets into cerebro, and with one of the two's arm scewered on his claw, he says "i recognize that smell..." segue to the 3 approaching the weapon plus program, where they have some pretty meaningless dialogue with a boy, and continue to their destination where some guy pops on a screen and says "we've been waiting for you" door opens and we see what appear to be hundreds of thousands more cuckoos growing in test tubes.

Thought I would post these ... courtesy of www.comicscontinuum.com

"The Phoenix is back! Or is it? Something's not quite right with the Stepford Cukoos and the X-Men better figure out what it is...and fast! Also, what does Weapon Plus have to do with all this? "

Nice!!!!!!!!!1.....next week....comes sooner than ever

Hmm, that preview looks good. Maybe I should start reading this mini. However, I still think, while Kirkham's art is pretty good, it was kind of a mistake to follow up Land's with this.

Land was probably busy with other work and couldn't get to this book I guess...he shore is missed though but for me its the story line that really matters over the art.....But U can't rule out good art like what land does...

Thanks for the preivew, but still don't know if i will buy the next one.

The only thing that makes me happy about this is they keep referring to Jean/Phoenix as one enitity all tangled together. Thats cool.

Cuckoos, eh, thats cool I guess.

Emma, no, please God for the love of God oh God no.

What book are you reading? TheJean Grey fans live in Denial" book?

Read what Scott says right there in that preview:

"Jean Grey was on eof the most powerful telepaths on the face of the planet, and if SHE couldn't control the Phoenix..."

He clearly refers to the Phoenix being something else that she couldn't control, it wasn't herself, it was something external she was not able to control... it also says "one of the most powerful telepaths" not "the" most powerful, which is also quite satisfactory :p

btw Welcome back

I dont think that was called for sebita. joke or not. jean doesnt need to control phoenix any more cause she is phoenix. and scott is a loser anyway

Wow thansk for the preview and the pics people. I'm not even a major Jean fan and that fire bird surrounding them just looks so damn ugly.

on the cover? it is sloppy and barely noticable

hi. am a total comic book newbie. am reading endsong right now and liking it.

will they put all five issues of warsong together? I'm guessing that'll come in Jan 2007 andhopefully, it'll have a better cover.

one thing I noticed in my endsong book, is that it doesn't seem to have any page numbers, is this normal for comics?

thanks...

I'm not sure exactly when the trade paperback will come out, but probably not too long after the release of the fifth issue.

Yup.

I'll admit that I liked the second issue better than the first, and I certainly didn't really see that last page coming.

So the second one is out....still don't know about carrying on reading them, might flick though and see if its worth it, but at the moment I'm not liking it.

Why? Because of Emma? And Specter, I was actually on that sire looking for Warsong.

Yes not much intensity but alot of desire for diggin into these Cuckoos past....This issue had nothing much to do with pheonix but where really did the cuckoos come from...good read though

Some says it's not out yet, some said it is ...so what's the real story? Is it already out???

Well kind of Emma, but more of the Cuckoos they just annoy me so much.

I haven't read the series yet, but judging from those preview pages, I'm gonna place this series firmly pre-"Torn" as far as these characters and Astonishing go. The pages I've seen seem interesting, but I'm just not too terribly interested in the Cuckoos if the ONLY thing they can think do to them is give them the Phoenix.
