In the last few months we've seen not only the Cuckoos, but this Shi'ar guy, Rook'shir or something like that, accessing the Phoenix Force and using its powers for their own. I just thought of a phrase and wanted to share it... "I'm always Jean, and I'm always Phoenix"... well I guess you Jean fans can throw that phrase to the garbage can now :p

Jean, I love you, but your better with out the Phoenix. When she comes back, just gives Rachel the Phoenix. :D

In sebita's mind, love for Jean and Storm is somehow mutually exclusive.

It seems like every writer has their own take on the Phoenix and the editors are letting them do whatever they want.

Brubaker posted a few months on CBR about his thoughts on the Phoenix and he's following the older continuity with Phoenix as a cosmic entity and none of the Jean is the Phoenix and fragments of Jean weirdness. It didn't seem like he's a fan of Endsong.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bru gave Rachel the Phoenix Force again, at least for a limited period of time.

:whatever: :whatever: ....None of them could wield it like jean and control like her.......Besides the Cuckoos,Korvus and Rook'shir only got a little portion of the pheonix and they can't even control....Rook'shir was actually killed by the imperial guards, don't see him rising from his ashes....so "I'm always jean, and I'm always pheonix" is still jeans trademark

To add:
Jean only lost control the first time because Emma and Mastermind effectively drove her insane.

She already has a fraction of it.

You just love to stir it, don't you Sebita?
I'm a Storm-fan, but I don't think what you're doing here is doing Ororo any good. Can't you just chill and give yourself a break from all this Storm-is-better-than-Jean crap?

Hooray! A fan who makes other Storm fans look good!

Rachel better not get the Phoenix force.

I would rather Rachel was separated from the Phoenix Force, since it makes her an un-usable character for most writers when she's uber-powerful. But I wouldn't be surprised if Bru made her Phoenix, at least for a while.

But Rachel did have better control over the Phoenix than Jean did. That's why it was really odd when Kurt was concerned about her having the little amount she does.

Hotaru, wherever did I mention Ororo in my post? I was just merely pointing out that the whole "Jean is Phoenix" is crap since everyone seems to be able to access the Phoenix nowadays... she just isn't unique, or the sole wielder of a the force...

And you're only saying it because you somehow think that takes her down a few pegs, in comparison to Storm.

What you fail to realize is that us real Storm fans don't need to validate our fandom by putting down other characters.

*triple snap, ghetto neck roll*

It's not exactly new. Rachel had the Phoenix Force for longer than Jean did.

Making the Phoenix a cosmic force fits better with the establish continuity than the whole Jean = Phoenix and shards of Jean nonsense.

And thats two threads so far .....none of them actually worked..... if i went to make a thread that storm is a goddess is pure crap its a different story....but I like all X-men characters

Sigh, just because I love Ororo doesn't mean that every post is meant to reflect on that.

And I just mentioned this because I truly hated Endsong, and this just starts to discredit that bloody limited that was merely pointless, with great terrific art, but pointless. I've always loved the Phoenix lore, but as a cosmic entity with a measure of self, like it was seen in Excalibur in the good old days (me big excalibur fan). A return to those roots is what I applaud and celebrate.

You hated Endsong? I wonder what you'd think of Warsong then...

I know...........Endsong was great becasue it brougth closure to Jean/Phoenix fiasco that was dragged on for so many years.....I thought many were happy with that...but not happy Jean was gone again.....

I thought Endsong was alright. It brought closure, yes, but in the end, it felt like... "so what?"

I do hope Rachel won't get the entire Phoenix power. I mean it's cool she got a fraction of it, like that cool PF effect, the bird thing, and the cool tattoos...but I do agree, her getting the full PF will ruin her character, and she's doing so good right now. Let's just NOT make her uber powerful, okay...look at Jean. Not dissing her or anything, but writers just can't make use of her uber powerful status. The only way they can bring her back, is bring her back without the PF. That would make her character more interesting, than just burn what doesn't work crap.

What I love to see is her coming back and forced to work with Scott and Emma. Heh. That's really awesome. Or get her a new team, like Storm did in XTreme. Her being a leader will be refreshing turn for her character and perhaps ORIGINAL since she has always been a follower, never a leader. Maybe it will give her some spunk on a cool way, rather than the PF uber powerful way, which is so anti-climactic.

I'm all for a new team led by Jean......

I'm all for a new team led by Jean......
I wouldnt mind but not so sure if I picture her as a leader. She's my favorite character but dont really think thats the best role for her. I can see her as a co-leader or 2nd in command

Even if she doesn't lead a team, I want her to take back the school!

I'm all for a new team led by Jean......
I haven't really seen any leadership potential skills from Jean, but she's been around Scott so long it probably rubbed off on her.
