Good to see something cleaning up at the box office. We haven't seen this level of mania since Barbenheimer a full year ago!
I'm curious to see what's going to happen next year, with both Disney's Elio and Universal's live-action How to Train Your Dragon on the schedule for the same weekend...
Of the two films, only Dragon has an already built-in audience so I'm wondering if Disney will be the first studio to flinch...
All I heard was let's make Coco 2.It's hard to tell how original Pixar movies will do at the box office these days and the decision to drop Soul, Luca and Turning Red directly to streaming didn't help. Elemental turned out to be a sleeper success but their last big hit that wasn't a sequel was Coco and that was almost seven years ago.
Elio is going to be a challenge.
Disney usually struggles with sci-fi films (Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Mars Needs Moms, etc.) - Strange World and Lightyear fared basically similarly to these.
Not before Rata2ille: Rise of the Rat King. All I heard was let's make Coco 2.![]()

Come on. The 2 that really deserves it by now.

I blame Woody Allen.I think the only reason why there isn't a Bug's Life 2 is because they weren't really interested in sequels back in the early days with the exception of Toy Story 2. By the time they were and started churning out Cars 2, Monsters University, Finding Dory, etc., A Bug's Life had already become their forgotten child.
Ah, the Antz vs. A Bug's Life drama. I remember both movies being released within close proximity to each other as a kid and thinking, "That's a weird coincidence" but I didn't know the full extent of it until years later.I blame Woody Allen.![]()
Katzenburg was a petty petty man.Ah, the Antz vs. A Bug's Life drama. I remember both movies being released within close proximity to each other as a kid and thinking, "That's a weird coincidence" but I didn't know the full extent of it until years later.
Wasn’t she queen at the end of the film? Thought that’s what the queen tossing her crown to Atta meant. I’d love a sequel or even a show.Princess Anna would be queen now.
Flick is going to make her super prego then.Wasn’t she queen at the end of the film? Thought that’s what the queen tossing her crown to Ada meant. I’d love a sequel or even a show.
Also WALL-E, which might actually be the most likely to get one of any of Pixar's older movies that haven't gotten a sequel yet, as much as it's not needed. No sequel yet

I left out the newer ips from that list. I think if they plan to rely on more sequels from ips that already got a sequel - I can see Monsters 3, Incredibles 3 and Cars 4 happening within the next 10 years. Inside Out 3 should happen based from the box office performance, its too successful not to be a trilogy. I don't think a Finding Nemo 3 with Ellen Degeneres would be a great idea, unless they find someone else to replace Ellen? But I wouldn't cross out a Finding Nemo 3 yet.
For the ones that don't have a sequel yet - A Bug's Life 2 could be very marketable. There are a lot of insects out there for character design inspiration. I feel like its gonna attract more people than Elio, Elemental, Onward and the other ips they've launched in the 2020s. I can think of a story for Ratatouille 2. I don't know whats story would be there to tell for Up 2, maybe the kid, is now a man and has a family? Braver (Brave 2) is unlikely. Coco 2 is very likely to happen.
