Playstation 3 Warranty Question

well, i recently purchased the mgs4 ps3 bundle on ebay and i had recently heard that in the case of a malfunction, you need a receipt for sony's one year warranty to fix whatever problem you have.

since i bought it from a user on ebay, is there any way i can still utilize the warranty without a receipt?

I would think that there would be some sort of sort of internal barcode or system identification, but im not sure, im new to the system as well.

how did you pay? Was it with Paypal, bc if so, you should have a printable receipt that you can print out from there. Assuming the PS3 is new and hasnt been registered, you shouldnt have any problem with utilizing the warranty

yeah, it was through paypal, and i haven't got the system yet, but it is supposedly brand new.
