Plot holes/poor storytelling discussion

Ok, well I guess I can get that, its just the way you wrote that last bit made me picture you in an entirely different light, you can see how it was easy for me to rope you in with the masses of this thread.

Just as your not a mindless troll who will bash and part of the film or any poster who liked it than your ok by me no matter what your opinion :)

What I meant to say about having "low standards" is that Ace tends to ignore problems, or better yet he considers them non-problems. If they're not important to him, they don't exist. :whatever:

Canucklehead, that was not a wise way to come back from a probation. If you're going to continue to fill this thread with your incessant flaming/trolling, then you won't be coming back at all.

Let's keep things civil, everyone. Just because you disagree it does not give you the right to decide who has standards and who does not.

Didn't water evaporate in X3 because of his optic blasts?

im pretty sure the lake disappearing was due to Phoenix

But the whole lake was empty (that would be weird with heat blast too :p )
Phoenix did that. The whole lake was not empty. If it was a laser beam, the water would refract it anyways.

ok so are we all in agreement that Cyclops has Concussive Force Optic "Blasts" yet? because he MOST DEFINITELY does not have "Laser beam" powers... whats next on the list?

Not if the metal could absorb the kinetic energy.

The day I see Wolverine standing in front of a bullet train and stopping it by crossing his claws together is the day I'll accept that possibility.

ok.. again.. i think its just straight up lame to include Blob in this film when he shoulda been in any of the 1st X-movies down with Magneto and his brotherhood... but in Team-X?? im mean really? Blob? a merc?? LMAFO! how out of place is that?? ... i mean with sooooooooo many other ppl they coulda threw in there or even make up a new mutant for the sake of it but Blob is just a lil too out there for me...id love to be there for these meetings @ Fox when they bring these ideas up... smh

Remember when he melted Rogue's safety belt? That was pretty much laser-ish. And I've seen lots of writers referring to his beams as lasers. Including, but not limited to, Joe Kelly.

Cyclops didn't melt her belt. He cut through it like a knife through butter. Like a force beam would.

I don't know exactly how a force beam works, but hey. I've read, a lot of times, that Cyke had LASER EYES in the comics. Probably an editorial slip, but it only proves that not even the writers and editors of the character know exactly what them beams are.

im currently rereading the X-men's early issues and I have yet to come across anything that says he has lazer eyes.
If the optic blasts generate heat why didnt he burn Jean when be blasted Toads goop off her face

I think I'm one of the few people who actually likes these changes. I think I would find it boring if the movies were exactly the same as the comics. Sure, they'll have to keep the powers more or less the same, and it's always nice if the characters are at least recognisable. But I think, since the comics have so many stoylines, it's nice to know they use their own creativity to shape a story. It adds something, rather than ruining established things.

I did too. After Watchmen, where I was meticulously watching how every scene matched up to the comic, it was actually kinda nice to see a movie where I had no idea what was going to happen. I know it's sacrilege to some, and I didn't love everything they changed, but I really didn't mind them mixing things up a little.

Even in the arcade game of X-men COTA when Cyclops uses his power he says "Optic Blast!" lol not "Laser Beam!" not sure if that counts for anything though lol

you know what? in all fairness i must say i liked the movie.. it didnt totally suck lol but it wasnt great either.. it was a good movie no scratch that.. lol it was OK..and i did enjoy it.. i will give it that much.. but i am of the same party that didnt like the changes made the disrespect of charecters that were used and not needed.. and the little minute (maybe not minute for sum) inconsistancies... not to mention the flat out lame story telling...those things there make me dislike the film more than i liked it.. but again alot of us may be bias due to our love of the story and charecter we are familiar with and take it somewhat personal when they do these things.. i mean look at the outpour of disdain for this film on here.. and let me say ive traveled around the net to test the air and im sure we know there are TONS of other ppl like us who have the same dislikes for this movie.. so its a love hate thing with me lol but i do hope the writes and directors of this movie and future ones take note of our seething anger for what they have done and try to perfect their craft.. because imo this movie felt like it was directed to kiddies with the way it was handled.. and to be honest theres no reason why a killing machine man named "Wolverine" with razor sharp blades that come out of his hands should be watered down for a younger audience.. just my opinion...
