popular Directors you are really sick of but afraid to admit to.

I guess he's never seen the Lost Boys:o

Oh, I have. It was pretty average in my opinion.

Watch The Number 23 trailer, Schumacher made the worst Bat-movies, but still, he is good enough thriller maker.
I'm sorry, but I'm not swayed by a trailer for a movie that isn't even out yet.

His movies have only ever achieved the level of mediocrity for me.

How can any of you think Nolan is over rated? Of course, i know everyone can have there opinions..but this man brought back a kick ass batman, an awesom magician rivalry movie, and ....MEMENTO.

I mean i love the guys films. Someone want to elaborate?

Well, hmm. I'm not afraid to admit but I don't like Tony Scott, Brett Ratner, Chan-Wook Park, Ron Howard etc. which I can't remember right now.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Tony Scott will never be overrated just because he made the amazing Spy Game. Everything else is a moot point. :o

And I can see why some people think Batman Begins is a tad overrated, even though it's pretty damn good flick. But Nolan? Hell no. It may seem like it on these boards because of all the fanboy worship, but outside of the confines of comic book message boards isn't the same. He really deserves praise for smart, ingeniously conceived thrillers like Memento and The Prestige and a performance tour-de-force like Insomnia.

Nice support for that.
He's overrated 'cause of one movie?
When he made The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes Wide Shut, 2001, Dr. Strangelove, Lolita, Spartacus, and The Killing.
Mmmkay

hmmm i didnt know he made spartacus :ninja:

*looks at floor in shame*

There's a lot of directors you can knock, but Kubrick should never be one of them.

Also, I'm glad to see the lack of Burton's name in this thread. He's one that always finds his eyes in the hatred of people.

Although i dont think begins is over rated, i gota agree with you there. I have a feeling we havent seen the best of Nolan, and thats really saying something, as 2 of his films are in my top 10.

Mel Gibson is one of the most overrated directors out there. How do you get so much posative press for making a damn antisemetic snuff film. Whats next the Passion of the Führer?

Anyone who thinks Kubrick is overrated is a certified moron- there's a big difference between liking his movies and at least recognizing them as the masterpieces they are.

I dissagree with you for you look at Nolans work and all are good solid films. He is better then Raimi which was what i was aiming for. Batman Begins had Nolans style all over it. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. I however garante you that there is many that would dissagree that this was the second best Batman Film

But I thought the main point of trailers was to promote movies for getting people excited, what means people are supposed to watch them before the movie comes out

Well, that's your opinion.

Action scenes are a VERY important aspect of summer blockbusters and take up a good portion of the film. Nolan can't film those scenes to save his life. If you're going to be called the best you better be damn good in every aspect.

Whatever the hell that means lol.

I can understand why fans would love BB. It was "faithful", right? You get to see Bruce Wayne's origin. You get to see Bruce Wayne train for 10 minutes as a ninja (ooooh), you get to see how he gets all of his gadgets and his vehicle (ahhhhh). You get to see Ra's (aka Fortune Cookie Man) pretend to be a serious villain and spill his psychological mumbo jumbo (oh my). The rest is pretty much the typical Batman movie....action scene here, car chase there, don't forget to once again reveal the ole' identity to the female love interest, defeat the villain and it's a wrap. As far as I'm concerned coming after the atrocity of Batman & Robin just about any Batman movie would look like a masterpiece.

We're talking about overrated directors. Someone said Nolan was the best comic director. I don't think he is. It shouldn't have to be explained.

No, "perfect" means it better be good in every aspect. "Best" means the best movie among others. Besides, action scenes were still god enough. Batman isn't Spider-man, what means BB wasn't supposed to have such big action scenes as Spidey films had.

Should I explain you every word?

You didn't get my point right. Read it again.
