Popular series you never got in to

What shows surprised you with their popularity? I only watched one episode of The X Files and thought it was so lame/stupid, I could never watch again. (It was about some chicken factory or something .. there was chicken (I seem to remember it was actually human flesh) in rivers or something .. really stupid. I did the same with E.R. I watched an episode with George Clooney trying (not very hard) to save a kid from drowning in a sewer duct and thought it was so embarrassingly bad, I couldn't ever watch again.

There have been lots of so called, "popular," shows that left me scratching my head wondering why anyone thought they were good. Which ones mystify you?

Lost. I just know I don't have the patience for such a show, waiting week to week, year to year for answers...but I also know its probably something I would enjoy so I am going to wait til the series is complete, buy the DVDs and go from there.

Any TV crime drama except for NCIS and Law and Order (at certain points more than others). Most are formulaic, melodramatic, and have bland characters, except for the two I just mentioned.

Most sitcoms, because plots are too basic and the characters are uninteresting or too cheeky.

All reality TV.

But...but...how can you not love Dr. Tobias Funke, the analyst/therapist? The world's first analrapist!

But yeah, Heroes. First season was great, but whoever kept watching after mid-season 2 is wasting hours of their life, but I'm pretty sure everyone feels that way.
But as for the rest, Gossip Girl/OC/any of those ridiculous teenage dramas, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, American Idol, and pretty much everything on The CW other than Supernatural. I know it's pretty much blasphemous for a girl to hate those shows, but they're just so bad!
