Iron Man 2 Possible ARG/Viral Campaign

We should spam them with "i believe in tony stark messages" til we get a response.

Okay, I am totally doing that right now.

Everyone!!

Go to http://***********/Jon_Favreau (the director of Iron Man) and send him messages of "I believe in Tony Stark"

if enough of us do that, maybe we can get an update of the movie and maybe a sneak peek of footage.

Go there now!

I've got no idea about how to communicate with anyone on twitter. All I use it for is to read Jon's posts to keep myself updated. But I have no idea how to send him a message.

^ You have to create a account on twitter. Then on any of his posts just hit the arrow button on the right side of the post. Next you should be re-directed to a page where you can type your message.

Hmmm...is it worth getting a Twitter account just to spam the director's Twitter to jump-start a viral marketing campaign...?

I don't think so.

I wonder if the viral marketing will ever happen...

I'd love some TDK styled viral games. That was the best part about TDK, other than the film itself, the viral stuff. I'd really like some of that for IM2.

^I really wouldn't know. I completely ignored the viral stuff for TDK.

You missed some serious awesomeness. :hehe: Besides the swag, we had a entire pre-movie storyline that was partly developed by Jonah Nolan.

I miss the TDK virals. They were so much fun. I can't wait until the next Batman movie starts, so then we can get in on the virals again.

You think they'll have another viral for the next Batman movie? I'd love it but wouldn't some find it redundant?

Depends on the approach they use, and which characters are involved. A lot of the "fun" stuff was for Joker, and if they don't focus on him during the games, it could be a lot different. There are many ways to go about doing alternate reality games, considering the scope of what can happen on the internet.

I didn't participate in the ARG for The International, but 42E did that one too, and planted real money (like, $200) in cities nationwide as clues. I kinda regret not doing that one. :funny:

I didn't hear about the money planting thing... that's cool.

So this is going nowhere I'm assuming.

That sucks. We were all getting so excited. Why even pass those awesome cards out then...??

To get people interested. Which is a little redundant because they handed them out at SDCC. Everyone there is a comic book fan. Of course they are going to know about Iron Man.

That is why you use the Comic book fans to get the word out about the movie.

I still have some hope (not much) that eventually they will go somewhere with this. *fingers crossed*

i havnt checked up on this thread in about a month. has anything happened yet for this thing?
