It's a shame The Incredible Hulk is low on most people's MCU list and Ang Lee's Hulk is low or middle of everyone's CBM of all time since we aren't getting a new solo Hulk film anytime soon

Yeah the census bottom 3 seem to be IM2, Thor 2, and Hulk. Also noticed most of the Phase 2 films are middle of the road.

I think those three are clearly the weakest entries in the MCU. I wonder if we would look at Hulk differently if it were Ruffalo in the role originally though

TIH is still in my top 10 MCU films. Maybe this isn't fair, but Hulk is one of the most iconic characters in comics history and he went head-to-head with his archrival. That means more to me than comedy-based CBMs like the GotG flicks, even though I love them too.

I think TIH has some strengths over other phase 1 films. Both Iron Man 1 and 2 and Thor feel very limited. Not a lot of locations and mainly take place in like 5 rooms. Also not a lot of wide shots, lackluster fights, etc. TIH is much more dynamically shot and actually has what I would call a real superhero fight. I don't think it is the best movie of the phase, but it has its fine points.

I just rewatched The Incredible Hulk last night. I thought it was better than I remembered. The first act is actually pretty thrilling. It moves on at a nice clip and the score really sells that thriller vibe its going for.

You could say that about Phase 1 as well more or less, save for Iron Man and The Avengers. But I still remember how great 2014 was for the MCU with the one-two punch of The Winter Soldier (still regarded by many as the best MCU film 5 years later) and Guardians of the Galaxy. Certainly the best of Phase 2.

I think Whedon was able to do one thing no director and a lot of comic book writers did. They gave Bruce a personality. I don't think even with Ruffalo that Lo

Very much agree. I still really really like the University action scene. It still is up there for me, probably even 2nd behind TWS highway fight.

Shot well, good escalating action.

All are still really re-watchable and I'd say none of them is a total train wreck. With the exception of IM 3 which seems to have had the least impact on the MCU, even the lower tier films are made better by what's around them.

I have to dig up my rankings, but good grief, I just got back from seeing Captain Marvel, and while I wouldn't say it's bad, it's a very weak movie. I'd rank it just a little higher than the two Ant -Man movies.

definitely one of the weakest movies of the MCU. In between the Ant-Man movies and Black Panther.

I think I'm only the only one who find the Guardian films among the weak ones and towards the bottom of my list. I understand why people are into them and they aren't particularly bad films but I just never cared for the Guardians of the Galaxy much in the comics or other media. Plus, the humor is way too much for me(especially Vol 2)

I like the first one, but it's not among my favorites. I think the second one is the worst MCU movie since Phase 1
