The Dark Knight Predictions on how TDK will end

I will re-state what I think should happen. I said this when Heath's tragedy first took place.

I want no re-casting, which I have a gut feeling Nolan will not do anyways. Though Joker is my fav villain, give him TDK, then give BB3 to Two-Face who also is a wonderful villain.

The way I see it, if Bats puts Two-Face in Arkham at the end of BB3, this is how it should go.

Shows Two-Face in his cell, then all of a sudden klaxon's and alarms began to sound off. The camera goes down the hall, following guards. They see two dead guards with smiles cut on their faces. The Guards run to the outside, and we just see the back of the Joker running into the streets laughing hysterically. Then lastly something falls behind him, and it is a Joker card.

To me that would be the perfect ending. Showing Bats job is never done. The Joker will always be out there, and just a wink towards Heath as well.

This of course if Joker is arrested at the end of TDK.

That is a fantastic vision for the ending. I really think this would be an amazing ending to the movie if, of course, the joker is arrested near the end of TDK. Nice job, man!

hmmm well Im sure if Joker was included for the 3rd movie Nolans wont change the story he has in mind.. My guess is he would recast. ( I know it would upset some alot, and lots of actors would be intimidated by following what looks like an amazing performance and proper final role by Heath, I mean he's dead... he's and actor... Joker is a character... My guess is TDK will be dedicated to him and the stunt man who died on set.. they are both human beings..... and cmon its hollywood Joker sells) Nolan once said the biggest problem Tim Burton did was kill off the Joker.. he will be recast.. I mean everyone loved Heath and its a burden on the franchise and a horrible thing but keep with the story.. I know Katie Holmes is alive and well but the recast a new and more minor character than the Joker to go with the story so Im sure they will...) Pretty much Id like it to end with Joker in Arkham though, Two Face out there in the city, something else to throw at us.. I like the Selina Kyle thing most so far out of what I heard.. and just end TDK like that... If there is a Mike Engel whos a reporter trying to figure out who batman is I wouldnt find if he was Edward Nigma.. Im sure Nolan would handel him much different than IN batman forever and make it work I trust him... maybe Edward Nigma will be the older guy who was cast as a detective ( he was in X-FILES i dont remember his name) maybe they'd both be trying to figure out who batman is and he will be one or the other... or maybe theres, someone who's paying them to find out who he is who is edward nigma... or maybe riddler and catwoman or no other villains will have anything to do with it...

But im sure there will be some moe additions, considering how many villains were crammed in Batman Begins ... a movie where they actually told his origin way more in depth than ever before and still managed to make it work and flow properly... I want to see Two Face as a gangster killing vigilante ... I always hated Two Face robbing honest banks and stuff on the 2nd day of the 2nd month.. I love the Vigilante take it makes sense since its a different way for him to fight for what he believes in .... and if my life was ruined by thugs and had a split personality id go kill them too

The thing is people are assuming the Joker had a role in the third one. Nothing but from rumor. And BB3 is pretty much in early development of script writing, apparnetly J. Nolan has been working on it. But the thing of it is, it is easier to write something out if there is a conflict, in pre-production. And like I said I will bet a billion Nolan will not want him re-casted. Heath created a one of a kind character. And Nolan knows that lots would be upset just to re-cast such a iconic role, that Heath created.

And rumor has it already that the BB3 script under went changes, and I'm betting that is what will happen. Two-Face is a huge villain and can hold up a movie solo.

In regards to how TDK should end, I would take my cue from the end of two classic Joker stories from the comics: "The Laughing Fish" and "Joker's Five-Way Revenge." In the former, Batman gives chase atop a construction site amid a lightning storm, rain pouring and girders crashing all around, while Joker taunts him. The latter has a famous confontation in which Joker makes Batman exchange himself for a kidnapped mob boss, in which he must escape a shark tank, nearly drowning in the process.

It wouldn't have to be as specific, but I think TDK should end with a sequence of events that goes something like this: Joker kidnaps someone or holds something for ransom, demanding Batman's presence, in which the situation is basically a trap. Batman would first have to get out of an impossible jam set by the Joker (i.e. "Joker's Five-Way Revenge") and then chase him in an extremely dangerous environment (i.e. "The Laughing Fish".) I think a chase through a rainy, dilapidated funhouse would be the perfect combination for this, but perhaps that's too obvious for Nolan.

There won't be just Two Face.

BB had Ra's, Scarecrow, and Falcone
TDK will have Joker, Scarecrow, Two Face, Maroni, the other mobsters
If Two Face is the "main villian" in BB3, they will still have some minor villains. Since they seem to going for the freaks now being the baddies, instead of the mobster types, I'm hoping maybe we will see Black Mask, Mad Hatter or Ventriloquist.

In all seriousness tho, I reall hope TDK ends with Joker goin to Arkham or escaping. Jail or dead just doesnt seem like the fitting end for Joker. Of course I prefer he gets away scott-free like I mentioned earlier, but if it cant end with him escaping, Arkham is really the only other fitting end scenario for the J man.

That man IS Arkham, IMHO.

I see. So, then you would simply recast the role. I guess I have more respect for the dead than you. Seeing as this was Heath's last role, a role that ultimately led to the emotional issues that caused his death, I'd simply let the character go.

twoface can hold a movie on his own. There is a whole conflict between dent and twoface that can be shown. If they need another villian it should be the ridler or panguin. catwomen is an awful villian. she is not that threatening other then she is a cat. just sick a dog at her.

Two-face can't really hold his own movie because there is only so much he does in his M.O. The more vital things seem to be shown in TDK and once that is over there isn't as much he does alone thats interesting.

Catwoman is not really a villain also just an anti-hero who is very Amoral.

End the franchise on a high note. The best villains have already been used. Who could Nolan possibly go with? Bane? Clayface?

The Riddler could certainly work for director's "serious" direction in the series...problem is that the Riddler is just weak and physically uninteresting. He doesn't work for the essential action part of the equation in making an entertaining film.

I'm going to bet that the next Batman movie will revolve around some kind of love struggle, with Talia or Catwoman.

I honestly never even heard of Black Mask in my life before tonight, but he looks like a good villain for the screen.

I guess I see that differently. I think Two-Face if need be could hold up his own movie. To me he has a huge MO, and TDK is the build up of it the entire time. Yet yes it would not be bad to have another villain thrown in there, for a small minor role.

I just wonder which would fit into Nolan's realm of Batman. Though I love Freeze he has need for a back story to create him. I truly wonder who could be a secondary villain, I mean Penguin could be an arms supplier, and they could entangle that with Two-Face.

Riddler would be hard to enter twine within the story so far. It would be cool, but I think it would upset the balance of the story so far. If nothing happens to Crane, I would not mind the Scarecrow finally stop being in the back ground, and really become a threat to Batman, and not just a mere pawn.

Agree with you on that one, Solidus. It would be AWESOME to see scarecrow be a bigger part of the picture in the future... I felt kind of cheated with the lack of scarecrow in BB.
