Premiere

Thanks for the teaser MM. :woot:
I hope you guys have a safe and restful journey home.

Thanks again to MSJ.

You got that right!

All of us took tons of pictures with the cast and crew...

The movie was amazing, definitely met my expectations and I can't wait to see it again.

The after party was so much fun... we were brought around by the amazing and very generous Amy Conley from Sony Pictures and allowed to meet, talk to, and take pictures with practically every single star and cast member from the movie.

I'll have a complete write up tomorrow when I get home.

It's about 4 am now, and I have to get up in 4 hours to catch my flight back home.

:D

$100 million this weekend, for sure!

Awesome. Glad you had a good time, and by the way if it makes 100 million this 4 day weekend I'll crap myself, change my clothes...and crap myself again and I'll post the pics of my soiled pants in thist thread. ;)

^ Oh no you do. I want you guys to believe me so I'll take Hi-Res pics and spray it all down with water so it glistens in the light. Heh he he. Never happen though.

They HAVE to be beat, at least FH, I know went home he couldn't sleep a whole lot before hand, MM I think is visiting realitives, I'm not sure what BG is doing.

Just got back from the movie. A hell of a ride. It was an awesome experience. MSJ found the middleground of making it serious but still comic booky. A lot of the jokes worked very well. It gets an 8 out of 10 from me.

^Glad you liked it Red.

I'll hopefully feel the same when I go tomorrow...

Well I did have a few minor problems with it...how some things were done and handled. But overall it was fun movie and at no point did I get bored.

Im back...and man im tired!
flight was 2 hours late yesterday and i managed to get to hotel at 6....just a few minutes to get signed in and change for the movie.
Met up w/ MarvelMovies (cool kid but has some of the suckiest luck w/ luggage!:woot: ) and we both caught a taxi to the show. managed to get inside w/ no probs and found our seats fairly easily. bad thing is we had to sit in the 2nd row of theater. wasnt the best veiw but hey im not complaining.....too much! heh
MSJ did a short presentation at the start and it was cool and surreal to see Nic Cage, Eva Mendes and Peter Fonda sitting in the same movie theater w/ us watching the film.
Movie was just fun to watch...expected a monster movie and thats what i got. it wasnt perfect but i never expected it to be perfect...just to be faithfull to the heart and spirit of the comic. very happy w/ the end result
Amy (from Sony) was very sweet and EXTREMELY helpful. she helped MM and I get set up to go to the after party as well as meet the stars and producers.
Met up w/ Flamehead at the party too....sadly his flight was cancelled and had to miss the movie. It was a trip to finally meet the guy in person...really nice dude. Amy then started to get us to "make the rounds" in meeting everyone. They were all very cool to us...met Nic, Eva, Wes, Mark (again!), Gary Foster, as well Avi and Ari Arad. Avi actually remembered the letter that i sent him back in 94 and mentioned that his lawyers actually told him not to answer it! :wow:
after meeting everyone we stayed until about 1 maybe? left to go pick up a friend of MarvelMovie's and then went back to the hotel. after that we went next door to a 24hr diner called "flame" and had some pretty good diner food. we called it a night about 3am, said our goodbyes and hit the sack. only slept for about 4 hours so i could eat and get ready to leave. flight back was pretty easy....no probs.
the hotel was nice...but small rooms!
overall i had a great great time. New York is fun too...just go when there isnt a lot of snow!

NICE great to hear you had a great time! Man BG sounds like you had the best luck outta the 3 of ya.
Snow in NY STINKS, that was the one thing I hated even more than in Chicago! For some reason it's just worse in NY.

I'm back as well. Not long home from seeing the movie... for the first time.

Am I rotted (not about the movie, about the trip)? Yeah, kinda but, it was still an amazing time...

I'll elaborate in due time....

lol Welcome back FH! it was HELL around here without ya lol

^ What letter? I missed something.

oh yeah...that...heh
this is a story i wrote about here a long time ago here in the forums.
back in 93/94 i was getting really PO'd that GR kept getting the shaft time and time again regarding the movie and general merchandising. I felt that time was running out for Marvel to take advantage of GR's current popularity and that soon it would too late to do anything. I didnt expect a response i was just one frustrated fan that had to do something.
wrote this letter w/ really bad handwriting basically saying that i was fed up w/ Marvel not something about this.
well about 2-3 weeks passed and Avi sends me this typed letter basically saying "Read your letter and i too am also a huge Ghost Rider fan. if you want feel free to call me at the number to discuss it further". This was back when Avi was just given control of the movie dept (i think). called him up and we talked for about 10 min telling me his plans for GR. It was going to be PG13, a cartoon series, and a toy line.
thats pretty much it....but im amazed he actually remembers that and his lawyers were scared of me! hah!

lol Funny stuff I remeber you saying that awhile backlol
The only letter I got back from Marvel was from Jim Shooter after I had sent in some of my work, he basically said to go to Kuberts school and come in to Marvel's offices afterwards.

^ The lawyers don't want you coming back at Avi and Marvel claiming they owe you money cause it was your idea if you had given him any. That's typical.

Makes me wonder if he signed the letter Biggun :D That would have alot to do with a responce lol

heh...no this was YEARS before "BIGGUN" came into existence.
i didnt write anything that could be considered an idea for a movie or story....just venting about the lack of promotion that GR was suffering from back in the early 90s.
but i dunno...lawyers can make a lawsuit out of anything!

I'd like to find a lawyer to make a case out of planes breaking down.

Were you on one of those planes for 11 hours? That's what happened somewhere with one company all over the states this week.

Not really, the people I mentioned were at the terminal still, for ELEVEN Hours in the plane, the company made no attempt to get them off the plane.
