Okay, some people are extremley hateful to him because they thought Ghost Rider was a bad movie.
I'll say that I'm pissed that he wanted to go for a light, corny film when that's not what Ghost Rider is. Though I did love the movie, it was dissapointing.

So instead of the constant hate for MSJ, why not make nice comments about the guy?

I mean look, here are some of the things I really respect and like about him and what he did with Ghost Rider:

1. He came here and talked to us (the fans) and gave us alot of cool goodies. He put some of the transformation on the web in October.

2. He did really well with taking his time with the movie (he didn't just make it in a couple years) and did alot of things well in the film.

3. He's a positive guy and seems to have had alot of fun making the film.

4. He invited THREE Hype members to the Ghost Rider premiere just because he knew those three liked Ghost Rider alot and they have been here at the Hype for years supporting it.

5. For his second action movie (?), you must admit he did pretty well. I mean, it's no masterpiece, but still. If this were Sam Raimi directing this and it turned out like it did I'd be extremley pissed. Mark did pretty well. He just needs some work with what the comics are made out of.

6. He didn't get discouraged when people bashed the film before and after it came out. He held up well, gotta give him credit for that.

7. He was damn excited about his work, he was proud of it according to him. I believe his only complaint was is that he wanted more action and a better final battle. But since the CGI fire is hard and requires alot of money to keep paying the team, it wasn't able to work out well. Of course I think he should know about where to spend money (not $100,000 on a fake tree). But like I said earlier, he's not a big time director yet. Surley he'll only get better.

Now I can go on, but I bet you're tired of reading now lol. But please, don't bring negative comments in the thread. I haven't seen him even post around here latley sadly. Wonder if he hates us now.:ninja:

So even if you hated Ghost Rider and what MSJ did to it, surley you can think of some good things about him or the film. And if you liked Ghost Rider, or like me, thought it could be better but you still liked it, say something nice.

If he comes back for a Ghost Rider sequel like he said he would like to happen, I think if he really thinks more about it and corrects mistakes from the first film, it could be a damn good movie. Stop with all the "MSJ STAY AWAY FROM MARVEL" comments.

Nuf said.

ahhhhhhh so tempted to debate yer points. but, out of respect for your opinions i wont.

If you don't like him then why post at the boards?

uhhh cause its the Ghost Rider boards, not the MSJ boards.

Attempted to make a good film, seems like a really nice guy, and always interacts with the fans. He reads comics, invited fans to the premiere, and made some cool scenes. So he gets extra points. Oh and most of all, I believe he really has a passion for what he's doing. So I must still give him 2 :up:

Well if you don't like what MSJ did with Ghost Rider, and this forum states "Talk about the film" pretty much, then you're in the place for a movie you didn't like.

If you just want to talk about Ghost Rider comics and stuff based from comics, go to the Ghost Rider comics forum.

I like the fact that he knows the stuff that he's talking about. The problem is I don't think he's able to cut and paste it on to film. Daredevils fights were ok. Nothing groundbreaking i've seen alot better else where but not bad. But Ghost Rider ugh its not really fight if the bad guys just stand there and let you beat them up. I'd really like to know what happened to that in the movie. Did th studio not give him a fight guy to work with him, or did he just want to show off the stuff Ghost rider can do, or maybe he just didn't have the time?

Other than that stuff he seems like a nice guy, and im sure it would be fun to talk to him about comics and history. Oh and at least he took the time to get Ghost rider right he looked really cool.

well i am talking about the film. im talking about how poorly done it was. forums are meant for discussion, whether its agreeing or disagreeing.

Yeah Ghost Rider did look damn perfect. Not much you should change for his look for a movie really.

The fights were dumbed down because the CGI costs too much money...the fire being the biggy. And I guess you can only do so much with that team with the money.

I think they could've found some ways. Did you see the Director's Cut of Daredevil? Personally, I loved those fights. Kingpin and Daredevil in the Director's Cut was just awesome. One of my more favorite Marvel movie fights.

If you don't like it then why hang out here?
I mean, I didn't like Superman Returns at all but I never go there to the forums.

Ah. That's great then.
I own it too lol. I bought it about a year after release thinking it'd be a BIT better but I was blown away on that dramatic change of how good it was lol.

I liked it a little better. Bought it for 5 bucks at wal-mart. It sure did take it long enough for it to get so cheap. Im sure glad they took out the sex scene I didn't think it was needed. I did miss the scene with the preacher though.

The sex scene was highly ******ed and uncalled for. It was a real "wtf" moment.

i hang around b/c when a movie is poorly made about one of my favorite characters, i feel the need to voice my opinions. its not like my only reason for not liking the movie or thinking that it wasnt made well is because of the overly cornyness. sides the script and directing, id have to say my biggest example of how the movie was poorly done is the editing. the pace of the movie was just so off. the way i describe it is like this. its like before a scene would feel like its finished, the movie would shift to the next scene except itd shift to the middle of the next scene. so itd feel like yer randomly going thru the movie.

MSJ gets too much **** on these boards IMO. He's a nice guy, and for a first Ghost Rider movie i think he did okay.

People tend to forget that not many directors in hollywood would have taken on this project, simply because of the nature of the character.

Yeah the first one had problems, and MSJ has been man enough to admit as much. I hope he directs the sequel, as IMO it could be damn good with the mistakes of the first movie rectified.

He took the time to talk to us and I'm sure he took our suggestions and opinions (well, at least some) to heart.

He didn't mess with Ghost Rider's look or allow anyone else to.

His idea of a supernatural western was neat.

He delivered on the transformation.

He didn't bail out on the project. Say what you like about him, but he was the one who brought Ghost Rider to the big screen.

He seems like a very cool and likeable person.

He spent a night alone in the Melbourne cemetery just cos he thought it'd be a cool thing to do.

He invited 3 of us little people to the premiere.

His cut of Daredevil is a damn good film and ballsy for a superhero film.

He assembled a terrific cast for Ghost Rider.

He rides Harleys.

When he smiles, the sun comes out. Possibly.

:yay:

I really enjoyed Grumpy and Grumpier Old Men.

i hang around b/c when a movie is poorly made about one of my favorite characters, i feel the need to voice my opinions...

There is no problem with you voicing your opinion, but you don't have to do it in every thread, and damn near every other post. It gets old.

Coming in here and posting this:

ahhhhhhh so tempted to debate yer points. but, out of respect for your opinions i wont.

is just coming in here to cause ****. The actions of a troll. Webhead asked to be positive, and first post in the htread you subtley insult the movie, essentially causing an unnecessary back and forth between you two. If you really respected his opinions of the film, you wouldn't have even posted here, causing him to respond to you.

Yes, we know the movie had several flaws, you don't have to remind us every chance you get.

MSJ rides Harleys :wow:?!! Now I'd definitely want to meet him :woot:, cause we share the same tastes! (Well, mine's actually West Coasts but....still close cousins, no? :cwink: ) Hehe...it'd be alot of fun talking to him as we ride along the rode... (I say the the best place to be is when u ride a bike; Always gives me a "soothing" feel, specially during an early-morning spin...)

Yeah, he's a really nice guy... I haven't met him before (wish I did) but the way he shows so much passion for GR (and friendliness to fans) makes me really like him as a person :yay:.... good director or no.

He seems like a cool guy overall, y'know? But it takes more than a winning personality and generosity to the fans to adapt a comic into a good movie. He came off well in the commentaries but it doesn't make the movie any less boring or lacking in action (there are NO action scenes in the movie)

MSJ is a nice guy...he knows exactly what to say to make fans pleased...but I really feel he decieved us on many things in this movie.

He's like that friend of yours who tells you about a movie about how great it was, how the action was amazing, how you're going to be blown away by the actor's performances...and then when you see it you're like...man what was he smoking?

That's him, he's that guy, that is MSJ in a nutshell.

I really think Webhead had a good intention of making these "MSJ support" thread, but, man...
Maybe, for the guys who simply watch the movie, it was ok, good fx, funny, and all.
But for us, hardcore fans, no offense, Webhead, but it was bad. Really bad.
"MSJ is a cool guy and rode Harleys."
My mom is a really cool person and i love her so much, but she have no talent to write and direct a GR movie.
Mr. Mark Steven Johnson proved on february, 16, 2007, he also haven´t the talent to take the job. Sorry man.
I may be wrong, but if some of you guys REALLY enjoyed the MSJ movie, you don´t care at all about Ghost Rider. Simply don´t.
I support the character since 1990, collecting everything i found. EVERYTHING, really.
I know what i´m talking about.
But of course, i deeply respect everyone´s opinion´s around here.
This is only mine´s.
The guy had his chance.
He blew it.
Someone new, please.
And GR4EVR!!!
