Seriously, it's Kurt Russel with an insane sombrero, flying helicopters in Antarctica, and with a bottle of whiskey in hand. Is it possible to be more manly?

It is hard to top.:csad:

That hat is a difficult one to find. To get a replica of it could cost a few hundred dollars.

I am saving my money.

If we had a trailer, then maybe his post would have merit. But alas...he fails.

The movie is being delayed so much because it sucks :) .

Go back to bed.

weakest troll post, ever.

Pretty much my face while I read his post:

They really need to realease the f'ing trailer already. :cmad:

Anyway, Eric C. Olsen just finished tweeting this:

Just did 6 hours of ADR for "the Thing" Oh. My. God. That movie is gonna be INSANE! Its like Lord of Flies meets Alien on PCP. Terrifying!!

:hrt::up:

long overdue and it's getting frustrating now lol.

Things have been very quiet with this movie. Not sure if that should make me concerned.

According to Dan Asma from Buddha Jones, they're finally editing the trailer for The Thing. Skip to like the :25 mark...

I have a good feeling about this movie. Same sort of feeling I had with Predators. It wont be as good as the original, but itll be solid.

Good, and it's also different from the one they showed at NYCC last year.

No trailer yet... ( :cmad: ) but Jonathan Lloyd Walker just finished tweeting this:

Just got back from ADR for "The Thing". Several of the scenes I saw looked fantastic. Tense, brooding, cancerous mistrust...trailer imminent. And, again, a BIG tip o' the hat to MEW whose performance just simply knocks it out of the park. Such a solid, nuanced actor. #superstar

I'm actually hoping that this prequel turns out to be good. It would be cool if Ennio Morricone came back to assemble the score. Imo, the score from John Carpenter's 'The Thing' is one reason why it was a great movie.

It's not a remake.

Maybe not the best but the score was remarkable. Combined with the cinematography it really made you feel isolated and paranoid with just a touch of science fiction.

Outstanding work.

:thing: :thing: :thing:

Ugh, it's just my opinion that I think that the score was one of the best 'things' about the movie. I never said or implied that it wasn't 'debatable'.

:wall:

I love Ennio Morricone's 'Thing' score. It's great. :D

& JL just tweeted this non-spoilery pic....

Morricone's score is a bonafide work of genius. It's so damned downbeat and bleak --which fit the movie perfectly. Always loved that the score [much like the movie] wasnt designed to be a crowd pleaser in any way; it was designed purely to service the story.

it's like thay said 'Hey, it is what it is, if you didnt like it - well, the door is thataway >>>>>

The movie should begin like this: All contact with the American Antarctic research station had been lost past the six month crew rotation. Weather conditions did not permit a search expedition until now. A small search party crew land on the station, now ruined and snowed in. Their investigation slowly uncovers that some of the original crew had died while the remaining were unaccounted for. The search party documents everything, make their report, and prepare to depart when a snow storm, they had been monitoring, reaches them faster than expected.
