Been very quiet with this movie. Actually forgot it was coming out this coming year.

Reshoots are starting up this week. I think Winstead should be in Toronto today since her husband tweeted about heading back there two days ago and Jonathan Lloyd Walker will be there soon.

2 more days of sunshine then off to the Antarctic and Thule Research Station. Norwegian bloodstains make such lovely wall decor.

I hope this movie turns out good. The 1982 movie is one I hold close to me and one that still holds up great nearly 30 years later.

Carpenter was asked about the prequel by Empire:

Are you looking forward to The Thing prequel? Have you had any involvement at all in that?

I’m not involved at all. God bless them, they’ve got some young genius director doing it and I’m sure they’ll do a great job. We’ll see how the monster is. It’s going to be the story of the Norwegian camp and it could be good. They’ve got a babe in it, so that’s better than my movie.

Classy yet funny from Carpenter. He now wishes he could have had a babe in his film.

I think having a girl in the mix really adds another element to the paranoia. Not exactly that it just adds another warm body to suspect but that The Thing as a woman would be the least expected from the group. I mean, it's all logical, but I think the group won't be looking her way when surprise surprise.

Have yet to see any of the creature/transformation scenes. Only saw a few of the cut together scenes...but what I watched looked great.

There is certainly that creeping sense of doom, that intense paranoia and mistrust...who has already turned, who can be trusted, what to do.

I'm telling you right now, anyone who doubts how good MEW can be in this film is going to be blown away. She's amazing, intense, compelling.

Performances solid, it's down to the effects now. MEW, ECO, Ade, Joel, Ulrich shoot scenes on board the Sea King today.

John Carpenter really doesnt care about any of the remakes of his films. He gave his blessing for Halloween, The Fog, and now The Thing. He just takes the cheque and runs for the hills, god love him.
