Prequel to 'The Thing'

anybody else worried about those pics of the people transforming? it seems like they went a little tentacle crazy. in the original the dog has a multitude of things come out of it, but not just snake tentacle arms. and i dont like the way the hand with teeth looks. even tho some of it may be dated, i still love the way the original thing takes different bizarre forms every time we see it. the chest opening up with teeth, the head falling off and being upside down with crustacean-like arms, weird bulbous things. this just seems like when it come out, it sticks to a general form with these arms or whatever...

ok, let me just follow up that post by saying i realize the bottom 2 are most likely the same character at different stages, long hands and all, and the one above it seems like a different character, but they dont seem as oddly alien as i would have liked. i dont want to just see a whole bunch of arms and teeth either, i want to see things that couldnt possibly be from anything on earth, anywhere

Where do you live? Because speaking as an Earthling, I've never seen anything alive that resembles creatures like the ones depicted in the maquettes.

I mean really Electro? You're post literally makes me irratated, then makes my eyes roll, and then makes me chuckle. Now I realize your not bashing the movie. You'll probably still see it. But I mean come on. If the thing looked nothing like it did before, we would all have to read about how they're changing too much and not staying true to the original. They keep the same sort of figures and shapes as before and now we have to hear about how it disapoints you that they couldn't think of something else. Let's contact them before they release the movie and tell them. Hey wait guys. Contact Electro and all of the other negative people in the world who do nothing but complain and see how they want the thing to look like. Come.........on............ those pictures look great. We could only be so lucky if the final product looks as good as the pictures. Is it really that much of a stretch that the thing looks similar to how it did before? I mean these movies take place pretty close to one another. I'm not trying to bash you. I'm really not. Just open your eyes a bit bud. I've said it before. This movie gives me a very "Predators" like feel to it. This movie will not be as good as Carpenters. But it will be a respected addition.

This moving is looking to be quite fantastic! :D

Apparently these are leaked maquettes from the film:

These are from the new movie? WOW! I hope this movie is a hard rated R.

Definitely a hard R with all that messed up stuff going on in the movie.

Wow, those maquettes look great, just hope they dont use CGI to get them on screen.

Is Rob Bottin still working?

They should bring him in as consultant or something.

That is truly terrifying. Do NOT want to know which characters suffer those fates!

:cmad: This guy on IMDB says the 'Thing' trailer isn't attached to Fast Five:

I am at work right now at a movie theater and I have the national trailer list for Fast 5. The thing isn't on it. I'm sure you are all just as bummed out as I am. :(

I kinda...don't want that to be true....but whatever...when it comes out, it comes out.....:o:cmad::csad:

I'm starting to believe that this film is all a hoax.

I know I'm human. And if you were all these things, then you'd just attack me right now, so some of you are still human. This movie doesn't want to show itself, it wants to hide inside a crappy Fast and Furious sequel. It'll fight if it has to, but it's vulnerable out in the open. If it takes us over, then it has no more enemies, nobody left to kill it. And then it's won.....

Heisserer's not sure, but he tweeted that the trailer might be out by the end of the month....let's hope so...:cmad:

I would say so, but I think it's possible to get a PG-13 rating, I think, so the entire family can go see The Thing in theaters.

Most horror movies are rated R though due to the gore, violence, & profanity. :o

Need trailer. I don't get why we don't hear much about it. If you don't release a trailer, then at least release some new pics every month to continue the hype. Now it feels like the hype is really dying because we don't hear or see much of it.

In truth, Hope, they can probably get away without showing anything for a good while, at least three months before release. The Thing is already a brand, not just a little known horror film. Take Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for instance. Spielberg really didn't show a thing until a few months before release. Did insane numbers. That's because they didn't have to pimp it up like any other unknown film. And I think The Thing will be similar.

What we're really asking for is that they throw us a bone or two. And I agree. I'm flipping my **** here too to see something. That bootleg trailer isn't enough to satisfy my tastes.

The Thing has two pieces of entertainment. One movie, and one prequel game. While both were well recived....ehh...i'm not sure people would call The Thing a brand.

Enough people know about the film. True, I wouldn't call it Indiana Jones popular or even Halloween popular, but it's known to the public and seen enough times that audience is gonna pick it up quickly.

Perhaps....perhaps. I guess we'll see if it does better then the first one...

I myself wouldn't call The Thing a brand like Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones has a lot bigger audience then The Thing. Perhaps it's because Indiana Jones is more watchable for the whole family while The Thing is not for the whole family. Indiana Jones has 4 movies, several young Indiana Jones movies/tv series, etc etc. while The Thing has 1 movie, a computer game and few comic books, nothing more. Indiana Jones is really a brand, just like Star Wars. I wouldn't say that about The Thing.
