Prison Break Season 4 Discussion

Slinger, I highly recommend giving this season some attention, if anything, definitely look forward to it on DVD. I disliked Season 3 with a passion and had zero hope for season 4, but it's really turning around and everything seems like it will wrap up accordingly. There have been a lot of drawbacks of course (the endless fight for the damn Scylla), but it's definitely made up for with really interesting plot elements that are making sense. Unlike season 3, the story seems to be going somewhere and it doesn't feel like the writers don't know what the hell they're doing, writing themselves into a corner.

plus there are some season 1 nostalgia/take back moments that make it feel like it used to be.

:word:

Aside from that, next week is the "fall finale," assuming there will be episodes broadcasted afterall. I liked tonight's episode. Lincoln pulled a Jack Bauer on T-Bag.

I'll watch the Monday episode and see what it's like.

I wouldn't advise just jumping in at this point Sling. I'd wait on the DVD.

And bump my theory for the page change :woot:

This season has become little more than a silly spy drama...but it is a hell of a fun ride. Though I gotta say, I take issue with this episode. I don't like that suddenly the Company may be good guys. That would just be too much of a stretch for me as it negates the entire concept of the show from day one. Plus, why couldn't Abruzzi come back in the dream sequence too? :csad:

Also...this is merely speculation, but does anyone else think Mrs. Scofield, Linc and Michael's mother is alive? Think about it...we know Scylla is being sought by someone to "become the Company." We know Michael's mother "died," of the same thing Michael has which is an incredibly rare brain tumor. We know that a woman is pulling the strings of Scylla's buyer. And we now know Mrs. Scofield worked for the Company. Plus the General dropped that line about one person having the experimental surgery Michael had and that person lived a long, happy life. Mrs.Scofield got the surgery and staged her own death is the theory I am now operating on and she is the one trying to buy Scylla. Everything adds up to make it her.

I'm mixed on this possible development. On one hand it is an incredibly corny twist that rivals the whole Jack Bauer family twist of 24 season 6. On the other hand, the cheesey intrigue of the twist fits in perfectly with this seasons whole spy/heist theme. As long as it is done well, I can deal with it. After all, reality was thrown out the door on this show long ago.

Still...to some extent, I wish the buyer of Syclla was none other than our old friend former president, Caroline Reynolds as not only would bringing her back close the series perfectly. It would also give an awesome opportunity for Kellerman to return.

Also, was this episode really Sucre's swan song? I hope so. The character had a good run, time for him to get closure like C-Note did.

I couldn't help but laugh at her when her daughter said "Bye, Auntie." What a loser haha

I'm not feeling the Michael's mom twist. I really hope they don't try anything like making the general turn out to be Michael's real father (we know he has a taste for younger women). I mean, the twist fits with the rest of the season but still...I hope there is a darker side to all this good Company work we are being shown. I really don't want them to become the good guys all of a sudden.

This whole retcon is absurd and I hope it is the Company playing Michael. For one thing they are re-writing the show's history. Michael never knew his father prior to being an adult (thus the different last name, he left the family while the mother was pregnant with Michael). Yet now he has family photos with his father in them?

How about Self's little temper tandrum tonight? Anyone else find that hilarious?

I didn't like how T-bag has made a turn around now. the dude didn't want to kill Gretchen?.....didn't he want to kill her a while ago cause she tried to kill him? Why would he care if she had a kid...this guy has been a ruthless killer for years...and a rapist. I didn't buy that part. I don't like a kind hearted T-bag

His "You're a ****e" rant had me laughing out loud.

I agree %100 on this. T-Bag is supposed to be scary...and I haven't been scared of him since season 2.

Which was the last time the show was at a top-notch level. Coincidence? I think not...

Eh, T-bag has always had a soft spot for children since season 2 because of his abused past. It makes sense to me. At least a little bit. What bothers me is the retconning of Michael's family history. Not only did he suddenly know his father, they went on camping trips together.

The man who was said to have "kidnapped half a dozen boys and girls down in 'bama, raped and killed 'em. Wasn't always in that order either" had a soft spot for children?

What you don't understand is, crimes like that aren't conducted because they HATE or even dislike the children they're abducting. It's actually the exact opposite. A good number of times, these crimes occur because the twisted mind of the psycho thought they were actually helping the child.

I was a Corrections Officer for 2.5 years, dealing with a lot of Protective Custody inmates, who are generally snitches, former law enforcement, rapists, "cho-mos" (child molesters) and child killers. (They'd get murdered within minutes on a General Population yard - of which I am not against - but the law's the law.)

I felt that the cliffhanger 2 eps ago when they stole sylla and then Micheal past out in the ally way left for dead, was a way better one to end the season than the one shown last night!!

I hear that in the next episode it turns out T-Bag is related to the brothers as well!!!
:D:D:D:D haha

The third Petrelli.. I mean, Scofield brother. You know, I wouldn't be surprised if that actually happens, since the writers obviously have no idea where they want to go with the story and just keeps throwing out new twists to keep the story going..

Wow, I must be the only one on Earth who thought that Season 2 was the weakest of the 4. Don't get me wrong; I still enjoyed it. But I just found it silly how the main characters (mainly Lincoln) did NOTHING to conceal thier identities when they were out in public running around. Thier faces were being plastered across the nation, and yet Lincoln never thinks to put a hat on or grow his hair out.

I also didn't like how Mahone was able to figure out EVERYTHING they were up to immediately. I love that character, but he was just TOO smart in that season. No one is that quick to figure that many things out; I just didn't buy it. But I do like what they've done with him since then.

I also think that Season 2 wiped out so many main characters that it has created problems with the show. They killed off Robin Tunney's character, Kellerman and Abruzzi, and wrote evil president lady out of the show. All of these characters brought a lot to the series and by wiping them out, they've had to find ways of keeping the few remaining Season 1 members around. T-Bag, for instance, should have been killed or locked up a long time ago. He's a great villain, but he's run his course. I can't believe that the mighty Company would ever put thier trust in a psychotic jackass like him.

I'm enjoying the season but I hope someone could clarify this for me. Are the characters still wanted in the U.S.? Are guys like Lincoln and Sucre technically free in terms of the law?

Is anyone else throwing in the towel on this one? I'm probably not gonna return to the show when the season picks back up next year....and personally...they should announce that this will be the final season. The show is done imo. First 2 seasons were great...but now its just a waste of recorded space on my dvr.

I was planning on giving up on the show because of season two. Then the ending happened and I stuck around.

Monday's ep is the first time i've watched this show in months. I jumped ship to watch Heroes but now i regret it, cause Heroes sucks!

Question:

Does the company have Linc's son? Remember him saying something about him and the spanish girl being safe...

I think LT is safe. Linc's talked to him once or twice this season off camera.

I swear, no one on this board gets his name right. It's LJ. As in Lincoln Junior. At this point, though, it seems doubtful that either he or Sofia will ever be on it again.

The one thing they have going for them is that AJ didn't actually see anything. He only heard it. It still better be one hell of an explanation, though.

One thing I don't want to see is the company have something over the brother's heads. In season 1 and 2, it was Linc's execution/ saving AJ from Mahone/ clearing Sarah's name. In season 3, again, it was AJ and Sarah that were held over the brother's heads.

Laderlappen said:
They could also have forced AJ to say that to motivate Lincoln and Michael.

I hate the fact that Linc hasn't asked or enquired, or even mentioned about the where abouts of his own damn son. I mean come on, RJ and the girl could be captured or dead for all he knows.

No one ever does...
