Proposal ideas

Actually I think I've come up with something. :) Since I can't take her to the ocean I've been researching Colorado lakes. I think this one'll do:

Hanging Lake.

I figure it'll make for a nice hike.
man, that place is The HOTTEST THING!!! Just taking her there will make her say yes!......oh...and...Can I come??:ninja:

So I bought a ring last week for my girlfriend of two years. We both live in Colorado, though she was raised near beaches since her father was in the Coast Guard.

She told me off hand about a year ago that when she was little she always thought it would be cool to find a message in a bottle floating in the ocean water. I knew right then that was how I was going to propose.

The only problem is, well, Colorado isn't near the ocean and I don't know if I can make my annual trek to California this summer since I bought the ring and am buying a condo.

I need backup ideas and quick because I'm excited to give it to her already.:oldrazz:

Whatever you do, it NEEDS to be romantic. I'm a guy's guy and into all the things that guys love, but I never think it's a good idea to mix "guy interests" with proposals. Stick to any and everything romantically based.

Don't let poor judgement cloud you, like all of the men who propose at ball games,

The 'Message in a Bottle' idea sounds AMAZING! You should have held off on the condo buy, or you should budget a way to do both.

You and all my friends have asked me that. ...Maybe I should sell tickets.

I forgot to update those who care:

She said yes! And the message-in-a-bottle thing worked like a charm. I guess Hanging Lake is a tourist attraction (go figure), so I had to do it in front of a small crowd. I was so nervous I accidentally put the ring on the wrong hand.

I plan on proposing, the same way I brought another girl home.

"Here."

give her a small, eloquently wrapped box with a removable lid and a padded interior. resting within the box is a small sea shell with the ring inside. tell her that since you couldn't bring her to the ocean, you brought a piece of the ocean to her.
