To anyone who has bought this, or seen it played on PS2, is the gameplay noticably worse than on Xbox 360? Are the graphics still solid? I'm buying it, but a bit concerned that I'm not getting a great version of the game.

I have the X-Box version and the graphics are quite good...X-Box 360 has the upperhand, of course...but nothing too dramatic.

I have it for ps2 and the cape doesn't move like the 360 one. The city is huge much bigger than spiderman 2 I am a little surprised that I haven't saved a plain yet, and i haven't stopped the bank robbers all i'v done is save kittens and beat up robots. The flying is fun but after seeing the 360 version i feel let down but i'm getting used to it.

But there's no difference in Game play, like is Metropolis still huge?

I just got it today for the PS2, and their really isn't TOO much difference. Fighting, flying, it's all the same. Superman himself maybe a bit different. And by that I mean that the cape isn't as fluid moving as the 360 counter part. BUT it still moves, so yeah, take it from me. The PS2 version is most likely just as good at the 360.

I don't know about anyone else, but after owning the game since the 21st, i feel heartily (ok, perhaps thats slightly harsh) let down.

I read on the site that pedestrians would get out of their cars to snap pictures of me... hasn't happened yet.

I read on the site that bank robbers or metallo...it made no difference, i'd stop 'em both. I have yet to encounter one bank robber, hell i'd settle for a bank.

I thought that this game would involve clark kent. Nope. Not one bit. Not even a chance to save Lois Lane or Jimmy Olsen. As IGN put it "Superman isn't the sum of his powers."

I agree.

Gameplay, however is fun. It's revolutionary. Sure, Spidey 2 was fun, and had a huge environment, but this city...metropolis...it is simply nuts. Flying two miles up, and hovering i could feel the vastness of the city. Which, after letting the camera take its nifty little "display mode", is really cool. EA really thought it through with Supe's powers. Particularly in flight.

I read on EA's website that there would be 3 sonic booms. Whoops, there are 4. After the 4th, you're flying faster than sound, and all you can hear is the freeze breath, super breath, or heat vision you use, and the musical score. Other than that, there is silence. Flying over water after the 4th sonic boom is utterly remarkable. After Spider-Man 2 or ultimate spiderman, when i felt bored or stressed, i pop either spidey game into my playstation and swing around NYC. Now, im certain that that will be replaced with flying around metropolis and saving kittens.

The combat system is quite tricky. There are a vast number of moves the player can do, each in varying complexity. However, it does get quite repetitive...however, this could be due to the.....

enemies! There are, approximately, 8 villains in this game. And i don't mean bosses. I mean 8 variations of baddies that you have to use a combination of super strength, vision, or breath to beat. That's it....8. Sure, there's an occasional fire, but fire is....well, its fire.

This game is supremely awesome in the first hour. It all goes down from there. However, after i beat story mode, im sure that things will pick up, since there wont be a robot invasion every 60 seconds. Finally, i'll be able to destroy the city as bizzaro, or have fun in my SR pod suit.

EA games has got the basics of superman down. Now, let's see where they can go with it.

Quick question. I own the Bradygames guide for the game, and in every screen shot, theres a HUGE metropolis health bar. Mine's is smaller than my stamina bar. Any thoughts?

mines small too. I got bored fighting the dragons so Im on here seeing what the rest of the world thinks. i haven't played one mission from the movie yet. No plain, and no bank robbers, i hope the end is good. I hope i get my ass handed to me by lex i hope new krypton comes out of the water, I hope i lift it into space. But from the looks of it I think it will be a cut sceen. EA kinda let me down. The flying is fun though I hate being interupted to fight stupid dragons the same way i always do every sec.

I feel like mr incredible. " I just cleaned this place up could we keep it clean for a little while" Spiderman 2 was better in my mind. This is by far the best Superman game ever so if your a hardcore fan pick it up.

The 360 is noticibly sharper than the PS2 graphiclly, as it should be especially in high defintion & 5.1 Dolby Digital sound, as for the game itself, ill put it this way if you are a hardcore Superman fan like spidey said this is the game is what you have been waiting for your whole life, if you are a average gamer you will find it repetitive its as simple as that. The game is MUCH more fun when cheat codes are applied such as the city meter never goes down & every power & bonus unlocked. When i first played this game in the meteor shower mission i was laughing with glee, i thought to myself... finally a kickass supes game, 6 strait hours later im still craving more!

I don't get why we can't fight....NORMAL humans. Get shot by bullets, something!!! I hate fighting all of these Sci-Fi monsters every sec.

any news on increasing metro's health?

Keep doing challenges, & you can put in a code where the city health meter & power stamina never goes down. Its just alot more fun than having to rush to beat every boss before the city meter goes down.

ive done the code, but i can't understand why the city's health is smaller than my stamina.

This is the first non-sports game I've ever had. How do I get out of the initial "learning" game. I hate it. I just want to explore the city for now, but all I can do is learn about my powers, then all hell breaks lose when I can't save the city from the meteors.

It does suck the way you start the game off. When I had to stop the meteorites, the flying system was still very awkward and the city kept getting blown to hell. It's good to have early missions to force you to use certain elements of your abilities, but that was more frustrating than enjoyable. That's not how it should be.

Then you go to WarWorld and it took a good while to learn the proper technique and distance to beat Overcast. As much effort as I expended there, afterwards I made Mongul my ***** like it was nothing. Very uneven there.

The flying does get addictive though. I don't even mind the incessant robot attacks so much now. At any rate, decent gaem, but it should have been better with that long ass delay and all EA's big talk.

Gotta go. I have a [blackout]big ass Metallo-launched, city-destroying missile[/blackout] to stop. :super:

Crap, it was. That battle started out so promising too. Outside of me going bat**** crazy for the flawed targeting system, that was pretty fun. Everything after the missile launch was downhill. There should have been more interactive combat.

save the city, beat the game, then you can explore.

As an "old guy" I hate this crap. It's a problem I have with all of EA's games. They expect me to "unlock" a bunch of crap. Why can't they just make it available. For Christ's sake, I paid for the game.

Surely they'll be a code or something to get into this stuff without doing the crap I don't care about.

Oh well, I'll take a little time this afternoon to see what I can accomplish :)

Hey, I made it out of Warworld.

I can get past metallo but the second wave of robots gets me. I can't seem to find them.

By the time I do luck up on them, it's too late and Metropolis is doomed :)

The game is starting to perk my interests. . . . .this is the first non-sports title I've ever owned.

metallio shouldn't pose too much problems, what i do is simply superspeed fly up and look down to see where the robots are. from there lock on to them using the L1 button i believe and superspeed into them with heat vision. hope that helps

good luck
