PS3 outsold Xbox 360 in Europe from January to September of this year + October

In this Corporate Management Policy Briefing Iwata gave this past Friday, burried in the slides was the results of the European HW sales from january-september of this year...

That's composed of sales tracking in France, UK, Germany, and Spain... which makes up 75-80% of the European market. I did a careful analysis of that chart and discovered that one pixel = 46,511.63 units of hardware. Considering the graph shows Xbox 360 to be 14 pixels high, PS3 20 pixels, and Wii 44 pixles...

Now, take into account the height between 2 millioin intervals on that chart is 43 pixels, we can calculate what each console sold. We come out with the following results:

Wii -- 2,046,512
360 --   651,163
PS3 --   930,233

I had no idea PS3 was outselling 360 in Europe. Interesting.

Dun dun dun, and 399 PS3 with PES/FIFA exclusive bundles are going to move units this Christmas, granted they're both being slaughtered by the Wii, currently.

As you can see, the PS3 is not really outselling the 360 outiside the US or Japan....so, i don´t really know where you are getting your numbers.
That´s because of claims like this tread, that the console war doesn´t die, why can´t we all get along?

The Playstation 3 numbers are out dated. They're at 6 million sold. And I think the Wii and Xbox 360 are closer to each other than that.

However, it hasn't surpassed the Xbox 360 in total sales yet in Europe. The article doesn't say that, it only says that it has been selling more than the Xbox 360 for this year. The Xbox 360 is still in the lead overall because it has had a headstart in Europe. And if you go to the other thread, it pretty much points out that the only major territory the Xbox 360 is outselling the Playstation 3 is the North American market, which is by far the biggest.

But i know that Europe is mainly pro-sony.
I´m from Portugal, and besides me, i don´t know one guy that has, or plans on, getting a 360.
Everyone is waiting for the PS3 price to drop even more, and i do believe that this Christmas will be all about the PS3.

This is the problem with many of the portuguese, we don´t handle changes that well, we stick with what we know.
PS and PS2 were a huge hit here, everyone has a PS2.
Even if (just an example) the PS3 was the biggest pile of crap, people would still not jump on the 360 bandwagon.
Knowing that there are 2922 360´s owners here (from mygamecard.net) makes me go....wow.
