Punisher 2 update

^ They're not making a Hulk remake. They're just making a different type of Hulk movie...more of a makeover/rethinking of the tone/style, etc...

I like LGF for their horror movies, but I am really mad at how they are treating the Punisher. If they aren't going to do it, then let the rights revert back to Marvel, get a writer and director, let Tom Jane Produce and let's get the ball rolling. My only concern with all that is would Marvel do it if they got the rights back?

Marvel would do it in a heartbeat and it would be guaranteed at 65 million dollar budget or higher per the terms of the Merrill deal which it would be added too.

65 million is to much to make a Punisher movie. 45 to 50 would do the character nicely.

^ Well if Marvel makes it...it'll be 65 million and that isn't too much IMO. I'd say anything much over that would be too much.

Those are just fancy words for a remake.

Collateral was done one a 65 million budget, the Punisher 04 film had 33 mill.

Collateral was filmed in New York, The Punisher film wasn't. Sounds good enough for me.

If they'd say what the hell was going on with Punisher 2 it would be a step in the right direction.

You can't blame them though for sticking with the horror movies.Saw and Hostel movies box office to date is well over 400 million and the budgets for all 3 films comes to just over 20 million. Thats pretty darn good business if you ask me.

Thats way too much money in my opnion for a franchise thats really not a cash cow to be honest.I really don't see them doubling the budget from the first film.Guillermo del Toro made Hellboy with that kind of budget. Punisher doesn't even have any superpowers.

why does it not say that there is a writer attached? Does this mean The Punisher 2 is only a spec script and not an assignment one?
I think they're writing the Punisher 2 script at the Pentagon. The writer is really a secret agent which explains why we don't know his name yet.lol

Bryan Singer will be writing and directing the Punisher sequel for a 2015 Summer release. ;)

Bryan Singer taking a break from the Superman franchise in 9 years? Thats a joke.

He'd probably use like the battle van and all that stuff.

The difference is that Collateral drug on and was a decent movie, but not great. I LOVED the new Punisher. Definately better than the one they made with Lundgren (sp) back in the 80's

Punisher requires alot more fireworks than Collateral and a few more buckets of blood. What Punisher doesn't need is Tom Cruise type paychecks to hand out. a 65 million dollar Punisher film would be just about perfect and it'd be worth every penny. Marvel can't make films for less than 65 million on their own slate per the financing terms.

So they aren't allowed to make a movie cheaper than 65 million ? If they decided to make a really cheap Punisher movie they would be stopped and told to spend more ?

Obviously the money that isn't going towards Cruise would be spent on blood.

For those who want to see some of Jane, he'll be on the show Medium tonight. Playing the main character's (who is his wife in real life) ex lover.

collateral was filmed in LA... much cheaper to shoot there than in New York

Punisher... I think forty million and you're set. 65 seems a little steep to me for some reason.

Nothing, zip, nada, niks, zilch.:down Thats been the story for a while now.

Punisher 2 update is donate $12.99 or $14.99 for the extended cut version of the Punisher which came out yesterday to get this sequel off the ground. :woot:
