Yeah...it's all ABC's fault with this one.
I like the story itself, but the show really went overboard with the quirkiness. If they just dialed it down a bit, I think it could have appealed to a larger audience.
I'm sad to see it go, but I am in no way surprised.
I hope that Fuller wasnt BSing about coming back to Heroes. They could really use him now.
ABC has canceled Pushing Daisies, executive producer Bryan Fuller confirms to me exclusively.
According to our inside sources, Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money have also been canceled. Reps for both shows have declined to comment.
Is the pie-maker dead? Will we ever see him again? Read on for the exclusive inside dish straight from the top...
Bryan Fuller tells me, "[ABC president] Steve McPherson called me, and said 'We gave it the best shot we could.' "
According to Fuller, the facts are these: "It's very likely that Pushing Daisies will end after episode 13, which as you know, is a cliffhanger. But we are talking to DC Comics about doing comic books that will wrap up our storylines, and I already have a pitch for a movie ready to go.
"To be honest, I'm really not feeling very boo hoo about it. I am so proud of the show. We put together 22 really good episodes, and there is a lot to be proud of. I'm sure I'll be working with a lot of these people again, and I would love to do so."
As reported by the Hollywood Reporter and E! News earlier today, the ratings for last night's "Oh, Oh, Oh, It's Magic" episode were the series' worst ever numbers in the key 18-49 demographic.
Ratings aside, did ABC just rip your heart out? Post in the comments...
Man this sucks that Eli Stone & Pushing Daisies are cancelled. Will ABC immediately pull them from their network or let them continue with what few episodes they might have left?
We may never find out if the Dilbert guy from the movie "Office Space" who was on last nights episode who was wanting Chuck's fathers watch was the one who actually killed Chuck or not or did we already find out who killed Chuck back last season & I just blocked it from memory?
Sorry guys, but it has not been renewed (along with Dirty, Sexy, Money & Eli Stone)

Cancelling a show you never advertised or never tried in a different time slot then telling the show creator you tried everything makes you sound like an ass ABC, if Ugly Betty wasn't on ABC I'd totally never watch their channel again.
Daisies will go on until the 13th episode, which will air in Jan or Feb, I think.

Oh, a little Ugly Betty never hurt anyone. It's actually a really good show. Has one of the best casts on television right now. Everyone on the show gels really well in their roles.
Yeah, in retrospect, it's so quirky and unorthodox for a weekly network drama that I'm surprised it survived this long. Should've gone to a premium channel.I think this show was just too good for a mainstream network, it joins the ranks of Wonderfalls, Firefly, Arrested Development, etc...
As much as I'd like to direct all my loathing and hatred towards ABC, can't say all the blame are on them. If people don't watch and rating is bad, how can we expect them to continue. It's the audience's fault. How can they accept so many spin-off shows (how many CSI do we need, people?) and not something that's original like PD?Damn. They killed Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money. I have no reason to watch ABC on Wednesdays.
Bastards.
