Quasar??????

why does everyone assume

a, Annhilus is the same annhilus old (if anyone read FF Foes he was much confused)

or b, He is waay more powerful now for reasons yet unrevealed..he looks different than before.

I don't remember the issue number, but a few years back, sometime during their new relaunched title (before it got to 500), Annihilus was killed and a new one was born. I don't know whatever became of the baby Annihilus, but if the power doesn't match up, that's because the old Annihilus is dead, and this is a new one. Well, that's my estimation anyhow.

I think Quesada said he thought Quasar was a "broken" character that needed to be taken back to the drawing board and remade. I don't get why but Quesada said that because Quasar didn't have a "killer instinct" he was effectively worthless.

JQ has Marvel putting out books that he wants to read....which is why it took so long to do cosmic books and longer for magic. JQ prefers realistic streetlevel characters and that is all fine and dandy but the entire Marvel line shouldnt be limited to just that. There are plenty people who dig marvel's Magic and Cosmic books

You know normally I wouldn't agree with Quesada, but in this I think he's right. I was (am) as big a Q-man fan as there is. But even I would throw up my hands in frustration at times saying, "that's IT with this guy? Isn't there anything else?" The basic idea of him being cosmic yet still in 'touch' is a good one, but I still say if he's SO ordinary there's no reason for him to exist. I may as well read a comic about my neighbor next door, then. If you're appointed to a lofty station there has to be something about you extraordinary, or stands out. What stood out about Wendel? Nothing, other than being handsome (this was commented on) and being a chick magnet. That and dying were his main assets. Enemies were never impressed with him, they only wanted the bands. The storylines were great, the relationships were great. But as a CHARACTER with a title, he was sorely lacking. I just think they took the everyman concept too far. As far as the killer instinct goes, there is no way you can deal with all kinds of beings, cultures, and attitudes in the universe and expect to just 'smile and shake hands' and resolve everything. You have to be willing to do whatever's necessary. This isn't about being dark or evil, just pragmatic. Yeah, he can angst about it later. But there will be violence, there will be evil and self serving beings. Think you're gonna talk them out of it? None of this has to change his ability to reason, but people need to get real. I understand there's some revamping and surprises in the future. I welcome them. I'd also like to see the continuing (and tangled) relationships with his friends, not-so friends and would be lovers. Q-man had a gaggle of interesting backup characters.

Okay,...
Annilus is "not" the same one.

Still Quasar is/ has been mucho more powerful than that which killed him. The guy Manips energy and should not have been drained like that.

Doesn't Annihulus have the cosmic control rod in annihilation?

jeez... so what if they kill Q? he was a bum, bottem line. it appears that every bum killed happens to be everyones "new" favorite charecter ( hawkeye, night thrasher) believe me, Q would not be missed. i hope they keep killing bum charecters so that they would stop popping in and outta comics.

Yes because the constant barrage that Characters like Quasar and Hawkeye has been inflicted upon us is getting rediculous........

its a troll...dont move...his vision is based on movement

Oh sh1t, if we remain still will it wander off??

Ok I just read Nova number 4 for the first time..and i got to say..At Least Quasar had a good death. I wish he would have been a little more tougher in terms of language when he went down...but he died on a "suicide mission" so that others may live. it was a worthy end...and not some horrible out of character sluff off like the New Warriors. His death will also inspire NOVA , who's "growth" into a grizzled and admirable character is astounding.

Quasar's death served all off these purposes above...plus it served a good story point in that "this is serious business" the stakes are high...and the foe is powerful.

Plus, with the nature of Quasar's power and the method of his demise...it doesnt lock the door on a re-appearence of Wendell someday...much like Genis-vell.

It seems obvious to me that Marvel is trimming the "mar-vell" types from their map in order to present a new Capt marvel.

I've heard the rumor that there is going to be a new Quasar by the time all this is over. It's going to be
Ned Leeds. As soon as he stops pretending to be Iron Fist pretending to be Daredevil, he's heading into space to take control of the quantum bands.

I always suspected
Ned Leeds
secretly craved Quasar's power. That devious bastard.

Regarding the event itself: Annihilus is supposed to be using the quantum bands for himself now. That leaves me with one question: what the ****? Weren't the quantum bands supposed to blow anyone other than the designated protector of the universe the **** up?

He absorbed Quaser along with the quantum bands so maybe thats the reason, and also the plot whole that will ressurect Quasar

It's too early to tell. And, frankly, I've enjoyed my comics too much this week to wear the cynic, jaded, bashing comic "fan" so soon after it.

I've enjoyed this Annihilation Wave stuff as much as I've enjoyed Civil War. At least it's much more coherent and flows better then Civil War.

I have little doubt that Quasar will be back in some form.

My hope for Quasar was that we'd find out he was from Los Angeles, they'd blow it up, and despite us never seeing Quasar in Los Angeles that he'd go crazy and then go hunt down the other cosmic characters of Marvel (The Infinity Watch, etc) and then kill them before destroying Epoch and becoming the villain of a crossover where he tries to restart the universe.

And give the bands to a Hispanic Comic Artist whose smooth with the ladies.

Quick question: I'm a Quasar fan, didn't pick up the Nova mini because I didn't want to be dragged into Annihilation, but now i'm wondering if its worth picking up... is it? Will it keep me entertained, because I HATE Nova, but LOVE Quasar... Help a confused person with not enough debt out :(

Then have Nitro kill his girlfriend and put her in his fridge.

It's worth it the Nova mini is my favorite besides the Super-Skrull mini

If you really hate Nova that much, it probably wouldn't be worth it. It is his mini-series, after all. Quasar doesn't even appear until #3 or the end of #2, if I recall correctly.

End of 2.
