I never got the chance to fully read The Other :Evolve or die, Civil War, Back in Black, or OMD, however, i did recently get the graphic novel for BND (only because I wanted a current spidey story from the store and none of those happened to be on the shelf)
so i'd like to know, besides them not being married anymore, what does everyone think of the BND story for those who have read it, and is there any way I can read the actual stories I mentioned up above online? all i know from those stories is was little i read in the single issues at the book store, info from Marvel.com and wikipedia, and from the disscussions that u guys have had.

I would skip The Other, but Civil War is great (Spidey doesn't really do much though) and Back in Black is cool too. I won't really reccomend OMD, but you kinda need to know what happened to begin BND.

As far as BND, it's good Spidey stories. My biggest complaint is that they didn't need to end their marriage to tell these stories.

I can't remember 100% but doesn't the first page of the BND trade sum up OMD

Don't bother drop spidey all together and join the revolt till the fix they're screw up.

Or go with Ultimate Spider-Man.

Nevermind the aforementioned opinions and form one of your own after you've read the stories...

I, for one, have been enjoying the new BND direction since the begining of the year, and even though there were a few bad stories, the conituity and natural flow of the stories are really reminiscent of what Spider-Man should be about... the never-ending adventures of a man called Peter Parker who gained incredible Spider-Powers and let his newfound powers get to his head which ultimatelt led to his Uncle Ben's death... torn by guilt, he chooses to do what's right, even at the expense of his life as Peter Parker.

If you enjoyed the BND hardcover, that's great... and I hope you stay on for the ride.

If you didn't like it, then there are tons of good comics you can enjoy.

The important thing is... to read the books you think you're interested in, give them a try, and form your own opinion as to whether you'd like it or not...

Letting a bunch of internet crybabies tell you that it's crap is an injustice to YOUR tastes.

So walk the path least travelled and try things that you want to read.... never let anyone ever tell you different... and if anybody mocks you for what you liek to read, then they're simply narrow-minded jerks and are to be avoided.

'Nuff said.

Happy reading. :word:

Cheers...

Aloha,
Don't hold back, tell him what you really think:word:
But in response-AMEN! And HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!
Spidey rules

Ok put it this way there are a lot of good stories, but they did something stupid and stripped the Main character of basically all his growth.

Marriage: out
Being able to deal with the Death of Aunt May like an adult: no chance
good stories in BND but they really stunted Pete's growth. I mean come on they really don't want him to be a role model they might as well of put him in college again.

Good stories, but they could have been better stories if they didn't do what they did in OMD I mean thats the only way I know how to put it.

Those stories were all pretty terrible anyway, you're better off not bothering with them.

Exactly they move the character backwards not forwards and not in a good way.

And I can only assume Manobat's tirade was directed at me let me say: SUCK IT! I don't have to read the "good" spidey stories now this guy asked for an opinion and I gave hime one save yourself the heartache and read spidergirl:wow: nuff said

I totally feel you we all know we were betrayed not by Peter but a man with far more power in the marvel universe.... No not Norman Osborn.... can you guess who?

Red X? That's all that shows but I know who you mean. And really on a whole I think Joey Q has been great for Marvel but they shouldn't let him with 1000 feet of a spiderman story.

aww really it showed when i posted it but yeah it was a pic of Joe Q

Wow... that's mature... :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

Just read Incredible Herc or Deadpool instead, both are much funnier and Herc is about an actual hero to boot. Also both are just epically kickass at the moment. Spider-Man will give you a head ache.

Yeh, try it for yourself and base your own opinion.

Opinions are devisively split on it, people either like it enough to read it or seem to despise BND/OMD.

So you just need to see for yourself.

okay I' finished reading BND(and for the record I already read Ultimate spider-Man, haven't read it in a while due to money issues and/or not being able to find a book, but i read it and it's one of my favs)

I thought BND was pretty interesting. I was nice to see spidey acting like he did in the oearlier comics, I LOL'd at all the jokes he made and I thought Mr. Negative was sort of interesting.
is it the best spidey story ever? No
was it necessary to break up the marriage? sHell no!
but the stories in BND were kinda interesting and i actually enjoyed them.
I just wish they could have found a better way to resolve the story of BIB and that spidey still had all those awesome powers he gained in The Other.

I agree with all of this.
