I apologized if this has been discussed somewhere. But I realized something.

If Prof X's power's come from the XGene, wouldn't tranferring his mind make him lose those powers?

he didnt transfer his MIND

he projected his astral form

   . Yes before when jean killed him he escaped to the astral plane and then was able to enter the mind of the coma patient.

I have a feeling this is going to be one of the MOST hotly contested theories of X3 for some time to come.

At least until X-Men 4 hits the theatres.

...although, I completely buy into CxAxBxLxE's theory.

Yup and im looking forward to it let the debating begin!.;)

He Went To The Astral Plane & Projected Into Cyclop's Body At The End. Hopefully.

If it is twin (like many people suggesting/speculate) then wouldn't his twin have the same xgene as well? Since he talks in the same voice then that would lend credibility to people saying it's his twin. I never read the comic so I have no idea. Is there a twin Xavier running around (or in a coma).?

He had a twin sister parasite thing that he killed in his mothers womb. Then its psychic residue remained and it finally formed a body and is now part of the Hellfire Club and has caused lots of destruction

Well, Charles is usually not as powerful as Jean but at his highest potential, somewhat similar in abilities.

So who is to say by transferring his consciousness into the body he did not create the necessary x-gene?

been a long time but i just caught your message about living outside of cleveland, i assume that wuz directed towards me...lol. and yeah i caught that now about the coma patient. did'nt 1st viewing of the film.

well i'm not a x3 fan but i will defend it and say, just because someone's powers manifest due to one thing, it doesn't mean it is also fueled by that thing.

one could also say that a mutant would then need their host body to do so....

so then it comes down to this????

What IF Jean wasn't actually destroying any of the things the dematerialised but was actually transforming solid objects to the astral plane (X-man has been able to do similar things being able to exist in solid form within it, xavier and onslaught were shown to do a similar thing as well). This would mean that all those people she killed, the professor, the soldiers, cyclops and the x-jet would all still exist.

NOW, since none of them are dead, the professor then needs to be able to get back to the real world in order to tell people what has happened and why they are all there so he then decides since he is the only one powerful enough to do this, to inhabit the void body in order to spread the news of their predicament?

once back and with the use of another plot device powerful mutant (maybe the shadow king) he manages to bring them all back safely and everybody except for dead jean is now happy...and the film reverts exactly back to where everyone was at the end of x2, therefore retconning the need to ever watch x3 again.

Oh, X-Men. What will they think of next.

Isn't it the other way around though? I always thought Jean wasn't as powerful as Xavier but she did have a higher potential.

Xavier is dead. I refuse to acknowledge the after credit scene.

he should not be back in the next movie except a voiceover to show his legacy lives on. magneto should be left in x4 as well with the hint he's planning something big

Especially love the part about 'retconning the need to ever watch x3 again'.

You should get a Nobel prize or something.

They should've just kept Xavier dead, IMO. It sorta ruins the emotion in the Phoenix vs Xavier battle and his funeral. Same for Magneto..... It's like they just put those scenes in to please anyone who was against Xavier dying, and the mutants being cured, lol. If X3 was really intended as the 'Last Stand' for this group, then it sucks because they left a whole lot of questions unanswered. I hope that if there is ever an X4, they just ignore the bonus Xavier scene, cause it could be cheesy trying to explain that.

Didn't Xavier talk about transferring the "mind" into the coma patient in X3? I don't remember, but I don't remember him saying anything about "astral form" Its been a while since I've seen it, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, at the beginning. Ethics class or something.

Funniest part is that I hardly see how it is ethical in any relevant way whatsoever.

Wasn't body-jumping Cassandra f****n Nova's thing anyway? :D

i don't think it was ever implied that it was ethical, in fact i think his speech to the class about do something like that, was that it is unethical
but, when it came to choosing between performing an unethical act (of transferred his mind into the body of the patient) or death, he chose the unethical path
Which may lead in to him maybe following a darker path, and becoming something of an evil twin type, equivalent of nova
or at least that one way of looking it
