Question about the Ending

i don't think it was ever implied that it was ethical, in fact i think his speech to the class about do something like that, was that it is unethical
but, when it came to choosing between performing an unethical act (of transferred his mind into the body of the patient) or death, he chose the unethical path
Which may lead in to him maybe following a darker path, and becoming something of an evil twin type, equivalent of nova
or at least that one way of looking it

Actually, they wouldn't even need to go the Cassandra Nova route. Xavier has a repressed evil side that's popped up before when he lost control of his powers... although that's now a bit too similar to the Dark Phoenix Saga as explained by The Last Stand; Jean Grey a telepath with a hidden dark side... Xavier a telepath with a hidden dark side.

There's also Onslaught, which is pretty much what happened to Xavier in the 70s but on steroids. Although, I don't particularly care to see a Magneto/Xavier combination Megazord traipsing around downtown New York City.

What IF Jean wasn't actually destroying any of the things the dematerialised but was actually transforming solid objects to the astral plane (X-man has been able to do similar things being able to exist in solid form within it, xavier and onslaught were shown to do a similar thing as well). This would mean that all those people she killed, the professor, the soldiers, cyclops and the x-jet would all still exist.

.

Sound very good. That would almost fix everything for an X4 movie.

Xavier is dead. I refuse to acknowledge the after credit scene.

You're being far too lenient.

Xavier is ALIVE.

..if you refuse to acknowledge The Last Stand in its entirety. :woot:

It's a good way of livin'. Worked for me for the past 6 months. I'm still waitin' for Bryan Singer's X3..like a senile old man waiting for his dead wife.

Wow, I just bummed myself out..

I still want to know why Xavier smiled before he died. I found it very odd, and a bit disturbing. :o

Who knows?

Considering what we got in the flick, we can only infer he's just happy not to "really" die.
