ALright, here i was thinking that Brock had a problem with spider-man but in the church scene from the comic con clip he says that he wants God to kill Peter Parker?????

hmmmmmmmmm, i'm not sure what could have really gone wrong for Brock to hate Parker that much, i always thought that the hate was between brock and spidey and that was the thing that himself and the symbiote shared and that their knowledge of spidey's secret identity was made it more personal.

I mean i'm not even sure if the symbiote is a completely sentient lifeform at this point but it still shows no reason why brock would hate parker instead of spidey, enough to want him dead, not even if he knew spidey's identity then, he would still say spidey

what do you all think of his wording? It's a small thing to some but it makes a great impact on the story we are going to get in the end and i think if they are going to throw brock in, his hatred motivation should at least be just and towards spider-man rather than peter parker (and they use knowlegdge of parker's life to taunt spider-man).

Well, Brock is completely bat**** insane when it comes to certian things. This doesn't seem to out of character if you ask me.

In the comics he hated Peter, not spiderman

I think it reflects the era we live in. :(
I was surprised by that comment, but it is a dark movie set in a day where that is how people handle beefs :( sadly :(

Well technically, in the comics, Eddie hated Peter and the Symb hated Spiderman.

So I'm assuming this is right before he gets the symb, he's praying to god to kill Peter, then he gets the power himself.

Perhaps, quite a logical explanation

well in venom's first outing, when he talks about his backlog, i thought spidey outted him for something and that was where the hatred came from???

am i somewhat mistaken, i'm pretty sure in brock's flashback as venom, he is going on about his hatred for spidey rather than parker?

i thought that was why the animated series went down that road

Well, now when he knows that they are the same person he maybe focuses on the person that caused him the most humiliation? I think Brock will get the same kind of public humiliation as in the comics and the animated series, and now as well his love interest Gwen Stacy.

so you think his motivation for hatred will be focussed on two sides of the same coin?????

from the scene we see it seems obvious that it looks like it's just before he comes into any kinda contact with the symbiote?

don't you find it strange that he doesn't mention spidey at all? could it be that it's purely stealing his girl that motivates him in this film...

i'm a lil worried about gaining the right motivation in such a short amount of time, i hope they don't chicken out and go for a 'love interest' angle, it's very
cliche...

Well, in the comics he sees himself as a protector of the innocent from Spidey... but now when I come to think of it I think he will be focusing more on damaging Parker...(Kidnapping of MJ?)

they said gwen and eddie used to date, so most likely eddie gets really upset with peter since gwen likes him and eddie still has feelings for gwen.

I think Pete just gets right Spidey's photos, and Brock hates him for this.

But then Edie knows that Gwen is some kind of girlfriend of Pete, and then he becomes even more hater of Pete, because he is pissed of him.

I don't think he wanting to kill parker is such a big deal. Realy. The other villains tried the same in the movies. It would be a bold move if they didnt. They would be like "WTF, that's no threat!" I know many people who would. NON comic freaks like us ;) still we can't always go by the comics, you gotta sometimes go movie wise too

this all seems a lil weak for wanting someone dead enough that you pray for it to be honest...

Im thinking that because he is wearing the symbiot Peter taunts brock some how at work and over women brock is after. It will eventually lead to a domino effect making him homeless and womenless

I think you've missed the point that in the other films, they wanted spider-man, not peter parker.

brock wants peter parker and as we can see, he is practically flawless and cute and cuddly, why would anyone hold a grudge against him.

I understand brock wanting spidey dead if job and reputation loss comes to it (or at least i understand it more), but parker????

even if he did do something under the influence of the symbiote, wouldn't brock then know since himself and the symbiote have a link and thus realise it wasn't parker doing those things out of free will rather than being influenced by the same being he is now currently a host towards...

A new low. Complaining about a single line in a fuzzy unfinished trailer from Comic-Con. Not even knowing what the context is or really anything about why he is saying it.

Wow. Just wow.

I think it'll be a series of events;

I'm sure there's going to something leading up to all of this, and to quote from here; http://comics.ign.com/articles/720/720542p1.html

"While Raimi described the basic inclusion of Venom, Topher Grace provided the key element which made Venom the right villain for this third installment. Grace mentioned that Eddie Brock is a similar character to Peter Parker. He is a mirror to Parker in many ways with both of them working at the same place and having the same tastes in women. The difference between the two is that Eddie Brock has a terrible childhood".

So with that in mind, i'm sure Brock will be unstable already at hand, and whatever finally sets him off comes with a bang. So maybe when he prays for Peters death, he's finally gone off the bend, a desperate man prehaps.

Just remember, this of course, is speculation and simple food for thought.

Ok, the smarterst man on the Earth, how would you explain Eddie's wanting Pete to die? :o

I wouldn't,

I would explain why eddie would have a vendetta against spider-man....

look at harry, peter's best friend, parker stole his girl off him but he never wished him any ill for it, why would eddie want parker dead if all he did was steal his girlfriend.

I'm just trying to say is what kinda motivation could parker possibly do that would have someone wanting him dead.

remember, i said parker, not spider-man?

once we see the movie, we will then see why brock wants peter dead. brock isn't really the most sensible guy, so he might see peter doing something greatly wrong towards him when its really nothing or not that big a deal.

truth is we don't know anything.

don't get excited, this is nothing.

besides, what's wrong with not taking things at face value?

just because it don't look, smell or taste like ****, it doesn't mean it's not ****.

Looks like Brock's stuff will be more intersting than I thought, I like psychological problems of characters.
