Questions for comic book readers

1. My boyfriend got me into reading them. Honestly, until I started dating him, I didn't know that comic books were still published :O I saw him reading them all the time, and became interested.

2. I like comic books because there are so many different kinds of powers and characters involved. Something for everyone! I read a large variety of books, but mainly from Marvel.

I like your answer :D

1. What got you into comic books? What is family or a friend who introduced you into comics? Did you just stumble into a comic book shop and start reading them? Or maybe you saw a comic book movie and decided to check it out from there?

I was a big fan of Batman since I was a little kid, as well as other comic characters like X-Men, Ninja Turtles, Bucky O'Hare, etc.... But all because of TV shows and movies. When I got older, I decided, why not look into the source material? I don't remember my first comic, but I think my first Graphic Novel was Kingdom Come.

2. Why do like comic books? What is it about comics that keeps you reading? You could also state which comic books you are currently reading, if you like.

This sounds like a childish answer, but because it's literature paired with pictures, which make the story more engaging for me. Since I'm a visual learner (I have a very hard time learning or keeping my attention of something any way other than with the use of some form of visual) and I have A.D.D., it keeps me interested. On top of that, I also have a very hard time reading long texts, as I begin to feel overwhelmed, confused, and the words start to glow, mix with each other, etc., and I lose track of where I am and what's going on in the story very easily. The colors and images combined with the shorter lines tend to make it much easier for me to keep track of where I am/was reading.
