The Dark Knight Quiery about new photos of Batman

Lenses? Isn't that a just a stylistic thing in the comics and cartoons? Or is there some explanation a casual fan like me wouldn't know? They change shape when he changes his expression, so how can they possibly be lenses?

Same can be said about Spider-Man in comic books and other heroes.

white lenses would be badass, but I highly doubt it, would be sweet to see him use them partially for say, night vision though

He did, perhaps you didnt follow the film's making around here?
I was here from the very beginning. He never in any single scene wore lenses. Especially not in the scene you are reffering to at Gordon's house. In every scene it is Bale's natural green eyes.

lenses in the cowl are in the books and make perfect sense. from infra-red to just simple protection from liquids or gases. they should be something that he can use when needed.

Fine, then you leave me no choice:

The BEGINS Batsuit has probably been greeted with more controversy by some of the fans than any of the suits before it and I can partially understand why. Hot on the heels of the fan film BATMAN: DEAD END, a small number of fans wanted a Batman that looked like he did in that, white contacts and all (I can confirm that Batman does wear contact lenses in the film at one point, but not how you might think). With the film being such a departure from the previous movies, why would the filmmaker’s choose to make another rubber suit? I was hoping this part of the set visit would answer that, as we were about to talk to the man who would know.

That's only one of them, it was stated more than once by the production crew. Now go watch that scene with Gordon and look how his eyes look different.

Oh yeah, I remember that quote ... that's reffering to the FEAR GAS ... that's why they said "not how you might think" ... it surely isn't in the scene with Gordon ... Even then, it isn't confirmed it was in that scene either.

That's exactly the scene, he is wearing contact lenses there ^

No, he is not. He is looking to his right. You can see his freaking irises. The contact lenses were fear-gass related (which is why it says "not how you might think).

Just to illustrate my point:

I am really tired of people peddling the notion that Nolan said "Okay, let's give him Magic Freak-O eyes in this scene, for no reason whatsoever!"

I guess no one is thinking outside the box here huh? I feel like im the only sane one here. Let's try this again...

Lenses doen't mean they have to be white you know? That's the whole point of "he's wearing lenses but NOT IN THE WAY YOU MIGHT THINK". It's to enhance the eyes in certain shots. That's how they used them. Simple really, i don't know why you guys are not getting it. Why would they talk about the fear gaz scene when the topic and question really was about if he will have the white lenses?

Yep, I can totally see it now:

Nolan: "Oh, I was thinking we'd give you magic Freak-O eyes in this scene."

Bale: "Okay why?"

Nolan: "Oh, no reason."

Dude: the lenses were for fear gas. You know, the explanation that actually makes sense--as opposed to one you pulled out of thin air.

Because it doesn't bounce right in your mind certainly means its nonsense right? I have my reasons to say what i said up there, and it still stands. I also remember when i posted screenshots of the movie's DVD back in 05 a lot of folks brought it up. Oh well i guess there's no convincing you. Sorry for wasting our time...

Why are we crying about his eyes anyway? Dose it matter?

The discussion got into the possible changes the TDK suit might have, like some people mentioned they see lenses on the new suit. That's how it got to this.
