Random Comic Stuff

Not to argue, but simply curious, what difference does it make which direction a book is stored if it's bagged and boarded? It seemed to me that it shouldn't matter at all. Yeah, it is a little harder to find a book, but my drawers are all labeled with labeled dividers so I don't have that much trouble. Not all titles have the numbers up top. I've got Wolverines with the number up top and some with it on the bottom. I just keep them all together and in numerical order. I don't have that much trouble. :)

it may make some difference in the long term if you want the book to stay in the best condition it can

To each their own I guess. :) I've had my books like that for a long time and they are not any worse or better than the ones I've stored upright.

Yeah, well, yer scarin' me! (Just kidding) :) I just found the stacking drawers were an excellent way to conserve on space and at the same time you don't have to worry about crushed carboard boxes or them getting wet if anything unexpected should happen. :)

I just got back from my comic book store(picked up Sandman:Endless Nights.Yeeeh!).High up on the wall right behind the counter,is a full-body bust of Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. It's been there for as long as I can remember, and I doubt that someone will buy it anytime soon.It realy seems like something you would want to buy online, rather than admitting to the clerk that not only did you love the movie, you greatly disire to have Bateman's helter-skelter eyes staring at you from your desk as you fall asleep.

That might make him trip the silent alarm.

a bust? I know they made an action figure, and then a large version (18" or so) of the same figure

Yeah, the 18" version is what I meant.I'm not very fluent in the terminology.

I'm two-thirds into Endless Nights, and I have come to a realization:Sandman is better than everything. And I'm not talking about just comic books.

Endless Nights is awesome. It reminded me a lot of the Hellboy Weird Tales books, in that it shows a bunch of different interpretations by different artists. My favorite was the dream piece, with OA.

Over in another thread, we were talking about Spidey/Wolvie appearances, and I thought I'd post a pic of Wolvie in Power Pack. After googling "Wolverine Power Pack", I came across this:

cliffwolverine.jpg

Which kinda made me laugh at getting something I wasn't expecting. But also reminded me of what I said to friend once when we were at a baseball game, up in peanut heaven, and some drunk guy seven rowns behind us spent the entire game alternating between swearing at the top of his lungs, and being passed out. And I said, "You know, I never want to BE that guy, but I hope he's always here." It's the same reason that I like seeing films like Star Trek and Lord of the Rings on opening night. Because I know I'm gonna get to see some Klingons and some Hobbits.

Sometimes I feel that, because I spend a good portion of my waking hours posting on a message board about comics, I must be one of the dorkiest people alive. Then I see pictures like that. :)

ILC, you gotta come to comiccon if you wanna see more people like that....

The anime costumes at MegaCon were awful. I saw a few Clouds complete with the ridiculously oversized swords and everything. :(

I've never gone to one (but only because I'm cheap), but I have to say that I'm sorely tempted. Besides, do you have any idea how many chick flicks the $17.00 admission will obligate me to? Despite ads that say hacks like Bendis, Perez, and Waid are going to be showing up at Pittsburgh's in April, I hear the little kid who played young Boba Fett will be there. I mean, who could pass that up?

For years, I tried convincing my friend into going to a Star Trek convention by taking old ductwork and crap lying around the house, spray painting it black, and dressing up like trailer park Borg.

Sorry the pic isn't working anymore. I'll photobucket it later.

I went to photobucket it, but it looks like it's working again. But, while I was there, I noticed that the pic came from a guy in Pittsburgh. Which means, chances are pretty good I run into one of these guys on Wednesday. (I'm not sure, but I think the Ghostbuster-guy might be Spideyinatree. ;) )

Look like somebody kicked Wolverine in the back of the head. heh, cockeyed bastard.
