I went home on my lunchbreak and had a package waiting for me and boy was I excited.

It was the complete collection of Rampaging Hulk/The Hulk! comic magazines from the late 70's/early 80's that I recently won off of ebay. 27 issues of Hulky goodness.

But that's not the most exciting thing about it. While having these magazine for their Hulkness is great the main reason I bought them was to complete my "Appearances Collections" for four characters.

I had every comic book appearance of Nick Fury, Moon Knight, Baron Strucker and Dominic Fortune already but now, having received these magazines, I have every magazine appearance as well.

My collections are nearing completion. BWAHAHAHAHAHA

After reading through some of these Hulk Magazines, I've realized that I now have every appearance of another obscure character, Ulysses Bloodstone.

Yay!!! :D

so i just got a call that my washer machine leaked into my garage, right where i keep my comic book boxes

this is fun.

Ooooo.

That sucks balls. Are they bagged?

I had a water leak get to mine at my last apartment before I bought a house, but they were bagged and boarded so there was little damage.

from what i am being told is that the bottom 3 boxes got it, but they were all bagged, so hopefully nothing seeped in.

Somebody said Bendis sucks, then somebody said you suck because you said Bendis sucks, then somebody said everybody should stop b***hing, and then somebody told that guy to go f**k himself, and, well, you can pretty much guess were it went from there. Oh and I finally got 5,000 posts and got this kick@$$ Astro City avatar. Good times. :)

I just got a bunch of stuff recently. A few good trades, issues 0-11 of Slingers, issues 1-9 of Brotherhood, and best of all, I got The Marvel Legends Galactis. It is, to say the least, kick@$$. Anyway, I decided to do some more backissue hunting, anybody got any recommendations for what to get? Marvel/DC/indie, doesn't matter.

Get the rest of Slingers if you can find it. It's great stuff.

Two mini-series that I bought a while back that were really good and slipped under people's radar when they came out were "Daily Bugle" and "Deadline." Both of them follow the staff of the Daily Bugle as they do stuff involving investigative journalism. Daily Bugle is a great look at JJJ as well. You can usually pick them up pretty cheap too. I think I recommended them to Corp a little while back as well.

Those are the back issues I recommend trying to get.

You recommended Daily Bugle to me after I talked about picking up Deadline at a con and enjoying it. I still haven't gotten DB. I thought I put it in my last order from Mile High, but it looks like I screwed it up somehow. :o

Anyway, I second the Slingers and Deadline recommendations. Both excellent (though entirely different) stories.

The Last Avengers Story, Ruins, and Hulk: The End are all must have back issues, considering they've never been reprinted

I'll second that

What is Ruins about? And how many issues of Slingers were there?

There were technically 13 issues of Slingers. #1-12 and a #0 that came as an insert with an issue of Wizard. There were 4 alternate versions of #1, however, each of which had a few different pages that followed each of the different Slingers.

I saw those and I only grabbed the Hornet one (in memory of the character) I just thought they were variants. So, would it be worth it to go buy the others too?

I've got them all, and I'd say it's worth it. If I remember correctly, there's only a few pages that are different, but I thought it'd be worth it to have them all. If you don't have them, you won't be lost in the story or anything.

I'll see how I like the book first, then take it from there.

So, thats Damage Control, Last Avengers Story, Hulk the End, Daliy Bugle, and Deadline. Anything else?

Yeah, each of the different versions just gives you a little more insight into what each of the Slingers was doing between Cassie's "death" in #0 and their first meeting in #1.

Oh, i suppose I'll find out who the hell that is when I read it. I already located all the Damage Control minis, and the Deadline mini. I also saw a waay too exspensive copy of the Last Avengers Story both issues 1 and 2, but I decieded to see what goes down with ebay.

yeah, Ruins

I'm sure you've read Marvels, right? Ruins is the exact OPPOSITE of Marvels. It still follows photographer Phil Sheldon, but it's in a world where everything in the Marvel Universe went terribly, terribly wrong. Warren Ellis wrote it. One guy whose name I forget, painted the first issue and half of the second, and two other guys finished the second. there were some behind the scenes problems, caused the book to be delayed, which is why so few people know about it

It's pretty much one of the most ****ed up versions of the Marvel universe I've seen. Pretty trippy.

Sounds interesting, I may check it out.
