What was the reasoning behind the changes, was it necessary due to software changes or hardware updates to take in updated facilities ? In other words, was it completely necessary or was it a choice ? If a choice, if that's the case, it's kind of back fired, given the feedback, sadly.

Yes. The old software was so old it was not able to be updated in terms of security and virus prevention. This is a whole new software. As for the feedback, this was to be expected from a major change to a layout that's been the same for as many years as the Hype had been. People get used to certain menus and links being in certain places, and having to adjust after so many years of that is indeed a chore. The fact that a good portion DON'T hate it is victory enough, lol. People (like myself) are already getting used to the look however, and the easier functionality with basic tasks already make it feel like an upgrade on several counts, imo.

Also, for anyone who hasn't realized this yet, if you're one of those who finds it "messy" looking and haven't tried taking away visible signatures in your preferences, that might help a little. Certainly made it look cleaner to me.

TBH, if you can't take a few minutes (or in my case 10 minutes over a couple of days) setting things up again, then good riddance.

I am a techno dinosaur, I factor that in, and whilst I openly admit, all the tech 'babble' and the how to get rounds are beyond me, to me, even the bare bones of what I'd need and hope for are not in place, I don't like it and it's a pain in the arse, that's my 'valid' input, as much as you have the right to have 'work arounds' and take 10 minutes out over a number of days is yours and equally ok to express, rudeness on the other hand is not required.

I also take on board, my dislike of it all is more on me than the actual changes made, I get that and I'll have to get my 'dinosaur' head and my extreme OCD around it.

Thread Display Options, switch to ascending and descending. That should do it.

I like it alot, I just needed some time to get used to it. Which I still haven't FULLY gotten used to it, but I'm nearly there.

That puts old threads first I want to order the POSTS with the newest first. This is not an option!

Well for the record, squeeks, while they seem to have no intention of making that one available for users to change themselves because of the ad issue, they've also shown no indication that anyone who uses it would not be able to keep it.

Occasionally I'll play liaison though :P

Where as the way it is now, you can get to it with an extra click but at least both are there.

But if that's overwhelmingly the popular option it could be done.

To put my vote in, I think it’s okay as is *IF* the link to view more than just the unreads was more clearly a link (underlined, different color, something). With it being a sneaky link I think its confusing
