Will trying to free his father is a much more interesting storyline for him than his relationship with Liz anyway, which I never found interesting, just a generic love story for the sake of it. Jack and Liz's scenes in Dead Man's Chest captured me while her scenes with Will in Pearl just bored me.

I dont know I actually like that Will/Lizzy aspect of the story. And im not one for mushy romance but the fact that all these elements keep pulling them apart is cool to me. Especially with that cold look he gave her after seeing her and Jack.

But I also think she just did that to use him like he uses everyone else.

this movie, to me, just felt like one big build up with no pay off. well, that's what it was, really.

and i hate the 'well, all 2nd movies in trilogies suck" exuse.

Well the major payoff will be next year, but for a film with an open-ending, I think this film had a very satisfying finale.

Look how depressed she was afterward.

YEah she was depressed after
she killed him
. But I understand why she did it.

Yeah. This movie blew me away and i cant wait to see whats instore for the 3rd one. I like the way they did the ending it wasnt cheesy.

I love Jack's opening scene how he blew that crow off of the coffin! I am still laughing about it.

Besides that I too loved the little story between Will and his father.

Davey Jones looked great.

The sword fights were impressive.

I love pirate Norrington.

And Barbossa showing up at the end nearly killed me!

Overall 9/10. Awsome movie. Can't wait for the third one.

Anyone wanna speculate on wether he's dead inside the Kraken? Alive inside the Kraken and he's gonna fight his way out? Or its simply going to be a rescue mission to the Underworld/Hell

Because I think
He's going to fight his way out, because he's smarter than that and ran inside of it because he had a plan...now, I know this sounds far fetched but, what if he saved some of that seasoning powder from the tribes people's island and unleashes it inside of the Kraken...just one idea and it would be a great gag...but I do picture it turning out somewhat like Gandalf fighting the Balrog/Giant Fire Demon as they fell through the bowels of middle earth

Well, I just saw it. I must say, I'm glad I let the negative reviews lower my expectations a bit before seeing it.

It was good, sure, but it sorta feel into that same thing the Matrix Reloaded fell into; a sequel where the storytelling takes a backseat to to the action until by the end you're basically left with a film that's little more than a teaser to the third movie.

Still, it was enjoyable to see everyone back - and Depp was certaily great, as always, and was shot very well so that could bump it up to a 7/10. But I may be being too kind.

Im not sure if he is or not. I thought him
running into the Kraken
was part of some greater plan. And as multilayered as this movie was I doubt it will be as simple as a trip to the underworld.

nobody has mentioned that

THE MUSIC WAS IN****INGCREDIBLE!

not to rag on you or whatever. but the film did'nt even focus on action and i really think you have the definition of storytelling all wrong.
this film tolda good story: will's father and the promise, davy jones and his problems, the new governor and his new found possesion of davy jone's heart and that other guy who bought to him. the film did a great job at setting all those things up. don't se how this film did'nt focus on storytelling.

I honestly think people are a little to hard on Elizabeth in this issue. Jack probably is thinking wow that was a good move. Jack likley likes her more. I think that Jacks return in 3 will be out of this world and about half an hour in the movie. I can't remember but what was Will's or Bootstraps reactions to the demise of Jack Sparrow.

when's the third coming out?

am i the only one felt sorry for davy jones? especially with his suppsed marriage. he reminds me of william. im really interested in his backstory alot.

The third one is out next summer.

I felt bad for him. It seemed like he had some heart. Like when he asked
Jack if he could condemn Will to a life of slavery in his place
You could see he felt a little bad for Will even when Jack was talking about Will and Elizabeth's love for each other.

I always wanted to see a three-way sword fight

this movie was ****ing incredible...... there are rarely movies that can deliver like this one did. superman was crap compared to this.everyone in the movie cheered for everything.

and when barbosa wasd revealed everyone clapped.

its a 10/10.... this movie had no flaws. the fx were unbelievable

Yep! You're right. This was the best movie I've seen so far for action this year. SR didn't hold a candle to this film. For those thinking that SR might be able to outdo this, it is really rather ludicrous.

POTC 2 delivers the goods, and leaves you leaving the theatre, seriously pumped for the third film.

Congratulations to Gore Verbinski and Jerry Bruckheimer, and a special thumbs up to Hans Zimmer's Pirates theme. Can't get it out of my head.

Too true. To me this movie did the perfect combination of action and storytelling.

it was more adventure than action...but i 100% agree with you dpm07!

It's not about focusing on the action, persay, but rather how much time is devoted to it. Yeah they had plenty of storylines running through it, but they were all inbetween these very big, long, fight scenes that you started to forget exactly what was happening, basically. Y'know, why are they fighting, where's Elizabeth or Jack or Will...it all became very complex and overcrowded and I think the action was to blamed for some of that. Most of it. It was for me, at least.

Not to mention it derailed the pacing quite a bit for me. It seemed to go from action scene to action scene rather than have a definitive beginning, middle, and end. Like I mentioned, it was very much like the Matrix Reloaded were it was basically a bunch of set ups for the third film, and a ton of action, and that just hurt the film greatly, IMO. It could've been much better if it had its own, distinct story, rather than just this set up for what will happen in the third movie.

Yeah, they set plenty of things up, but didn't finish anything, which is why I said; it feels more like a teaser to the third film than anything else.

I just got back from the movie and I really loved it. It's a great movie and a much darker movie than I expected.

Johnny Depp, Bloom, Nighy, and Knightley all put out great performances and became their characters once more. I love how in a sense they're pulling an X2 and uniting with the enemy to an extent.

The third one should be great and I can't wait to see the final climatic battle that Depp, Bloom, and others have been talking about. As a whole? I give it 10/10. I really enjoyed it and had a great time.

My favorite scene?:

When Jack is left behind on the boat and the mouth of the creature opens up roaring and screaming, and Jack just takes out his sword like a bad ass and accepts his fate.

Great movie. I loved hearing little kids scream, cry, whine, and call for their parents during this movie. Hopefully the next one is just as dark, if not darker than this one.
