I am just baffled why would they hide a girl who can turn into a wolf, a girl with a sword and who can teleport, Lockheed, a man on fire, Warlock. And I am not asking them to show me the whole movie but as someone who's familiar with the source material, those things should have been showcased in the teaser trailer. Remove the Marvel logo and the reference to the Mutants and rename the movie to teen asylum, And it could just be another Indie horror flick coming out.

Re-watching the trailer there is a moment Dr Reyes is on the floor with claw marks and blood on her face. Could that be Wolfsbane perhaps?

It could very well be Rahne. I wonder how they will come up with their codenames?

The last bits of the trailer are probably scenes from the climax. Also I hope they will change the aspect ratio, I didn't like it with Avengers and I definitely don't like it here now. It looks like a TV show and not an expensive one.

I'm still not sold on this, but I liked the horror direction the trailer went in because it's different.

I'll give it an 8/10. I'm intrigued. Horror plus mutants is my kind of thing. This might be the first comic movie where i have never read the source material.

You should give New Mutants comic books a try. They are the best X-Men splinter team IMO.

Yeah i gave it a 7 as well

I like the cast, and props for doing something different in the genre
But it looks like any generic teen horror movie that i would typically pay no attention to if it wasnt for maisie, anya taylor joy, and stranger things dude

I wouldn't pay attention to it if it wasn't Marvel.:csad:

Had I seen this as a trailer on TV w/o knowing it was New Mutants, I would have just figured it to be another craptastic horror movie out of Hollyweird. Knowing it's New Mutants just makes it worse. Unless Marvel has gone really dark with them, they were never that dark of a comic. Even during the Majik 4-issue run, she wasn't that dark. The only time they were was during the Marvel-wide Inferno series

9/10 for me! Love how the Horror genre is being brought into the world of X-Men, just wish we could have seen some mutant abilities!

From the looks of it, Fox is trying to reinvent New Mutants:hmr:

5/10

Here are my thoughts:

Positives
+I'm glad that this isn't looking to cannibalize the new young X-Men in the regular series as the tone is wayyyy different. I was concerned about that early on.
+It is more interesting to me than just a 'regular' New Mutants (which I've never read), which never sounded too unique in this saturated superhero market.

Negatives
-Looks kinda generic as a horror movie.
-It's not even terribly unique in the superhero space. We had psychological horror in Legion done extremely well, and we've seen the idea of scary physical abilities with the body horror of Fant4stic (Sure this movie will probably do it better, but the trailer isn't more exciting that FF's)
-I think it being an X-Men film will make horror movie fans less interested. I almost wonder if they should have gone the Split route and not let anyone know that it's an X-Men property. Have the movie look interesting enough on its own, and blow fanboy minds in the theatre when they start recognising names.
-The cast needed one legit movie actor (like McAvoy in Split) to elevate it from feeling like a Netflix show.

Lol
Sam and Dean Winchester bout to show up and start shotgun-blastin some mothaf***as

6/10

Pros
-Reminded me of Dream Warriors.
-The titles are cool
-Love the cast
-Glad it's in the present
-Still really looking forward to it.

Cons

- It looks like a generic Pg-13 horror trailer. Not a new fresh one. Trailer felt cheap and very rushed with cutting
-Seriously getting tired of putting well known songs in every trailer. This song took me out of it.
- Wanted more genre bending.

All I can say is that Boone really wants to make all those Stephen King books that he's been working on prior to and after this film. I hope this film is a success so he can get his shots at The Stand, Revival and Talisman etc.

It's an okay trailer but the generic horror stuff kinda brings the whole thing down in my opinion. Where's the Demon Bear? Now that's something you don't often see in horror movies... demonic plantigrades.

I am super excited about this movie, though the trailer probably should've teased the characters and what they can do a bit more.

**cue in They just wrapped up few weeks ago, the vfx aren't finished, that's what the full trailer is for**

I thought it was fantastic so 10/10 for me.
