I'm giving it a 10! Its just fantastic and fun to watch!

That seemed pretty darn snazzy. 8 / 10.

9/10. Had pretty much everything I wanted from a trailer for this movie that the teaser didn't.

A look at them each powered up and in action - Check
A look at their chemistry and relationships - Check
A look into the story - Check
Face shots of The Thing - Check

Was glad they didn't have Thing speak yet or the extent of Dooms power and his motivations.

General Tone and Feel - 8 This was the best part. For the first time since the start of production and in contrast to the first trailer, it feels like this film could be fun while also having other elements we look for in a film like this - powers, adventure and some action. Looks like it could have some cliche's like the government involvement, making them weapons and the whole origin thing is getting old, but I was very pleased that at least the trailer didn't emphasize the Cronenberg elements we keep hearing about (though I'm still concerned that could be a big part of the film and these carefully selected moments are misleading).

Characters - 7 It was good to see the characters interacting and illustrating some of the elements that make them unique. Reed was too much of a geek and Johnny seemed like he was closer to Chris Evan's re-imagination of Johnny than the original Johnny (pilot?), but Chris Evan's re-imagination worked. And as I mentioned after the first trailer, I really like that Johnny is into cars like the original. Ben and Reed seem to have a close friendship and that's one of the most important dynamics of the whole thing IMO. That's one reason I very much disliked UFF. They had Ben and Reed as childhood friends but then Reed was sold off to the think-tank and he and Ben didn't meet back up until years later. Based on the trailer (and other things we've heard) it looks like Reed won't spend as much time at the think-tank so hopefully he and Ben will have a longer and deeper friendship.

Special Effects - 5 I'm not liking what I'm seeing special effects wise. The flame and stretching effects didn't look much better than the Story films - and may have even looked worse. Ben just doesn't look right when he moves, and the N-Zone doesn't fool the brain into believing we're seeing a real place. Granted, all these things are tough to pull off, so I'm not going to knock the skill of the people involved, but I'm afraid the audience won't be able to be as immersed in this world and feeling what they're seeing is 'real' as would be ideal.

General Production Design - 4 Comic books are visual medium and provide eye-candy, but this trailer didn't deliver in that area. We've still got the bad costumes (and I'm afraid the 'functionality' of the suits will be distraction more than anything), and the sets and settings aren't much to look at. Far too drab, boring and familiar in general film terms and too unlike FF or UFF in design. When FF first came out in the 60's, it was like something we had never seen before. The same can't be said for the design of this film. Doom looks a little better than he did in the leaked images, but he could have been SOOOO much more if done right.

Overall, I voted 7. While that's not glowing praise, I do have to say that after seeing the trailer I feel better about this film than I have since the casting was announced and my expectations dropped. In fact nearly every single thing we've seen or heard about this film over the past year and a half has been a disappointment and this is the first thing we've seen that has raised, rather than lowered my expectations since the leaked Thing bust.

Agreed with Willie, I'm at a 7. First teaser was maybe a 3 or 4.

Most trailers look good. There is an art to trailer making, but a good trailer does not means it will be a good movie. Phantom Menace anyone?

The plus to me is the Thing looks outstanding, and could be the break out star of the movie.

Reed? The best Reed to me was from the 1960's FF cartoon.

Johnny? Jordan has large shoes to fill as Chris Evans was excellent as the human torch.

Sue? Seemed like a 5th wheel in this trailer outside of having some fun with Reed's lack of common sense in social setting.

Doom? Okay visually. But he's a computer hacker?

About a 7.

I gave it an 8.

I like that there's still mystery to what is going on despite the trailer showing the character interactions.

Effects still need work.

Don't like the design of the Thing.

7. It's a good trailer that gets the job done, but after the embarrassment of riches we've been getting from other trailers lately, I'd be hard pressed to call it a "great" trailer.

7. Actually piqued my interest in this movie, which up until now had been pretty low.

Enjoyed that. I haven't followed this troubled production at all but I want to see this.

I give it 8.

I had serious doubts about this project and it sounded like a disaster.

But, I really enjoyed the trailer. I'm loving the sci-fi tone.

Plus, Sue's powers looked pretty cool!

I want to see this movie now.

so, in that sense, the trailer was a success! :)

I give it a 4. It was semi-decent. A step up from the last trailer,which I gave a 2.

The "good": I think Teller could actually be a decent Reed--in like 15 years. The cast looks way too young. The Stretching effects looked decent.

The Thing might come off alright depending on his voice/characterization,which we get none of here. I guess it's a "positive" by absence of a "negative".

The relationship between these two might be the film's highlight,I'm willing to guess. (though, I have to chuckle at Ben being called "The Muscle".:hehe:)

The Baxter Building

The rest, pretty much put me to sleep.

Mara looks like she's sleepwalking through the whole thing.

MBJ lacks any of the wit & charisma of Evans. The Flame FX ranged from "ok" to pretty bad.

Doom still looks very underwhelming. We don't get to see much,so the jury is still out.But nothing here makes me very impressed with him.

The whole Negative Zone thing (if that's where they're supposed to be) looks very unsatisfying visually.

There really is no sense of "family" between these four. I don't get that feeling at all and it's an integral component.

Costumes...were there even any costume shots? I don't remember any.

These guys working for somebody? (They seemed to be sending Thing on a Mission of some sort) That also took me out of the standard FF mood.

Very unsatisfying.

I think this fits the "government using them as weapons" we've been hearing about since the first synopsis that was attached to a casting call (and then quickly denied by Trank).

Remember this blast from the past?

And the most recent and most credible story description also describes that element.

The leaked trailer was only a 2/10. I'll give the official one a 4/10 with the tag scene. However if this were a real FF movie Ben would have jumped out of the plane using Reed as a parachute, but no that would be too "silly". :whatever:

Looks like that synopsis may have been legit after all. Remember how much everyone hated it?

It would explain the shot of Jordan throwing flame at Mara's forcefield.

They're training.

To be used as weapons by the military.

Gross.

Also explains the tag scene where Ben is dropping onto a military base with Reed directing him and the room full of men asking on status.

Yep. Right on that page you linked I commented on the two rumors at the time I hated - Miles Teller and that synopsis.

That magical moment in time before Miles Teller had been confirmed and I still had the hope that we'd get a decent cast and the synopsis might not be real was probably the last hope I had for a truly great film.

Now we've seen and heard so many bad things, it's hard to get upset about the government using them as weapons anymore because that's the least of it.

I'm not good at rating trailers, normally I don't like any of them...so I'm very low. So, I'll just leave it at that.... : )
