i have a feeling that they are showing to much even for this kind of promotion.

They need to show certain things to get Peoples attention & interested in the Movie. Pretty much EVERY SINGLE BIG BLOCKBUSTER MOVIE does this. They are not showing the good stuff just to piss off Fan Boys. They need to show things they know that will catch the Non Comic Book Fans interest. They are not making Movies just for us Comic Book Fans. They need to get EVERYONE ELSE'S attention. It being a Superman Movie is enough for most of us Comic Book Fans to go see it & the WB knows that. They need to get the other Peoples Interest. You know those that dont spend their days on Internet Movie Message Boards & finding out everything in advanced. There is a WHOLE WORLD outside of Superman Fans that know NOTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE. You may feel they are showing to much but what about those that know nothing about this Movie / has no idea a Superman Movie is even coming ? It is not just about promoting the Movie to Comic Book / Internet Fans. You only feel that way because you know most of the Story in advanced. What about those that dont know anything ? That is the Main Focus of Marketing the NON COMIC BOOK FANS that know NOTHING. You need to realize that there is a BIGGER WORLD out there & that the WB is simply Marketing this Movie not only to Comic Book Fans but to also EVERYONE ELSE & especially those that know nothing about this Movie

And don't forget that the vast majority of people are not going to see every trailer and every tv spot.

I have never in my life watched tv spots and trailers for a movie and thought "they're showing all the good stuff - I'm not going to see the movie" or "they're giving everything away - why bother seeing the movie." Not once, ever. Certainly after seeing a few movies I've thought they showed all the good stuff in the trailers (this would be with movies I didn't like). But never beforehand. I really do think I'm pretty much like the average fan.

Why show the same thing over & over again ? They want to get Peoples interest EVERYWHERE & the best way to do that is show off new stuff. You dont understand Marketing that much

It's just a way to appeal to different people, I guess. Certainly the second trailer would have made me more interested in the movie than the first one did, if I wasn't already a superhero fan. The second one actually tells us a little bit about the plot, which means a lot to me.

In any event, it might appeal to a different audience.

Also, it excites those of us who spend lots of time looking for every new scrap of footage we can find.

I mean - why not release a second trailer? Most people don't see both, and even if they do, there really isn't that much in them. And spoiling it doesn't really apply to those of us who seek out every scrap of knowledge and read interviews, etc, because it doesn't reveal to us anything we didn't know and many of us are excited about every tvspot and every trailer.

A little to obvious & since now that you have said you dont understand it please dont automatically think like the WB is desperate or that they are expecting Spider-Man Numbers just because they are showing spoiler things

the thing is the trailers get better and better as they go along
